Mulligans
- As you probably see, this deck has 3 main win conditions.
- Lyra the sunshard
- Elise the trailblazer
- Elemental Synergy
There is a few things to understand before start playing this deck:
– Mulligan
– Synergy and combo
Mulligan
It might be one of the hardest things to do in the entire hearthstone game, especially this deck. Against aggressive matchups, you might want to keep Tar Creeper, Mana Geode. (Keep Potion of Madness against pirate warrior might be a pretty good counter.) Against slower matchups (i.e Mid-range, control), you might want to look for Northshire Cleric, Mana Geode and Radiant Elemental. There are a few variations in terms of style of mulligan. If you’re more of a control player, consider keeping Elise the Trailblazer and shadow visions. This seems to be a very greedy choice, but that’s the control variation. Combo variation wise, you might want to keep Lyra the Sunshard, Northshire Cleric, and Radiant Elemental. Keeping Lyra meaning you will just need to wait for your cheap spells to come to you sooner. Consider the odds of finding Lyra is harder than you trying to cycle for cheap spells as it only has 1 copy in each deck.
Synergy and Combo:
– Lyra the Sunshard
- Cheap spells cycle: Through card cycles, you might get elemental cards to either stabilize your board or to search for cards that has OTK damage.
- OTK potential: Consider doing the combo power word: shield –> divine spirit –> divine spirit –> Inner fire. It is potentially very easy to pull out.
- Elise the Trailblazer with Shadow Visions: Basically when you’re facing a control/value matchup, you have to try out-value by searching Un’goro packs. It is really strong compare with Elise Starseeker as it doesn’t replace your deck, instead it gives you extra resources to win the late game. The only problem with this card is that you don’t always get full value from getting all 5 cards, you need to know when to play the Un’goro pack. This could not be explained through plain words, but you’ll eventually understand through a few casual plays against slow matchups. Also, getting random cards meaning you should know the card mechanics very well, not just with your own deck, but knowing what could these cards do to counter your opponent or to out-value them.
- Elemental Synergy: As you can see already, Blazecaller is one of the key cards in this deck also in terms of late game survival. It is a 6/6 body and a slightly weaker fireball effect for 7 mana. It is insane, but you will have to trigger it properly in order to gain value from it (consider this deck is not elemental heavy).
