Dragonic Beastlock ’26

Intro

• why “Dragonic Beastlock”? – because we urgently try to find one of the Possessed Animancer’s in the deck as well as a card that will proc it’s Deathrattle twice, thus summoning two very large beasts with Lifesteal. We repeatedly do this, hence “Beastlock”. The “Dragonic” comes from the dragons that form the backbone of the deck. 

Mulligans

Pretty simple really:

1. Possessed Animancer – top, top priority. Throw everything if you don’t get one!j
2. Elise

What’s the game plan?

Early

• Play your discovery cards ASAP to hunt for a Possessed Animancer because the later you find that card, the less likely you are to win. The difference in win rate between finding an Animancer on T5 vs T9 is huge in my experience. Your discovery cards are:
  • Catacombs – only play this on T5 onward because the Animancer costs 5
  • Portal Vanguard
  • Xavius

Mid

• Play your Possessed Animancer as early as possible
• Failing that, play Elise if you drew her and go for the 5 mana location.
• Failing all the above, just keep digging and tapping for an Animancer or Elise.

Late

• the main problem here e.g. esp. with armoured opponents is closing the game out. 
• Just try and find your Umbra ASAP and bring down even more big beasts before they can recover
