Compensation for Patch 15.6 + Brawliseum Issues (3 Saviors of Uldum Packs + 300 Gold)

I’ve seen many questions regarding this issue – Blizzard has announced that they will compensate players who got locked out of Brawl from 2 weeks ago. It was initially Brawliseum: Battle of the Bans, but due to technical issues, it was switched to Top 3 on the very next day. However, many players were stuck in the Brawliseum queue and despite playing multiple games and winning, they couldn’t claim their rewards or play the Brawl again. Same goes fro the Top 3 Brawl – many of the issues followed and those who were stuck in Brawliseum also couldn’t play it.

Another issue was the patch which introduced Battlegrounds mode (November 5), which brought lots of bugs and errors, ranging from mild ones like visual glitches to more serious one like stability issues or gameplay bugs.

Now Blizzard has delivered and will compensate for both of those issues:

  • Those who downloaded a buggy patch between November 5 and 11 (so after the patch release, but before most of the bugs were fixed) will get 3 Saviors of Uldum Card Packs.
  • Everyone affected by Brawliseum issues (players who started a Brawliseum game and couldn’t finish / retire it) will be getting 300 Gold.

Rewards will be delivered on November 26 (PT, so they can arrive late, even on November 27 to EU and Asia, keep that in mind).

Hey Folks,

We owe you all an update on compensation, so here it is! Recently, we encountered some tough issues during the 15.6 patch, along with the Brawliseum Tavern Brawl having to be disabled due to some major gameplay issues. To say “Thank You!” for bearing with us, we are granting the following rewards to those affected tomorrow, Nov. 26:

  • 15.6 Patch Issues: 3 Saviors of Uldum Card Packs
    • Note: This will be granted to players who downloaded 15.6 between Nov. 5 – 11
  • Brawliseum – Battle of the Bans Issues: 300 Gold
    • Note: This will be granted to any player that had an active Brawliseum run when the issues occurred

Thanks again for sticking with us!

Cheers,
The Hearthstone Team

Funny thing is, I got both 300 golds, and 3 SoU packs, plus, I can play the Top 3 brawl replacement without getting stuck, and also win a classic pack too.
That means, even if you just enter the buggy brawl without playing, and end up disconnected, voila, you get the golds.

    lucky me

Logged on and was suprised to see the packs and ended up here. But I also received a single DoD pack at the same time what is that for? They said only 3 Saviors packs and 300g. Anyone know what the DoD pack is form?

must be from BG Brawl, when you pick a losing team.
If you pick a winning team, you’ll get 2 DoD Packs.

I have received the 300 gold, but not the packs why? It was the week “you can’t silence your opponent patch” (from many thing), It’s not enough? 😀

As usual i logged in at 8:00 pm (CET) to play the new tavern brawl and i couldn’t even start a brawliseum run. Now people who were able to start a run get 300 gold (even for not winning a single game) and people who weren’t able to push the button get nothing? …at least that’s how i understood.
If that’s the case this seems pretty unfair to me tbh.

But you were able to play the next Brawl – most (if not everyone) who got the 1st Brawl bugged were locked out of the 2nd Brawl too and they couldn’t play it for the entire week.

Plus, it’s not like you’re losing anything. I also wasn’t affected by the bug but I don’t mind people getting 300g for free, because why not? It doesn’t cost me anything.

I agree that it would probably be more “fair” to give it out to everyone, but I don’t understand why some seem to be angry when others get something.

If I speak for myself I’m not mad that other people will get something but it is unfair because like he said, if you don’t immediately log into to play the brawl you were already too late. And I think everyone in this state (with the expansion coming up) rather wants gold to buy new packs of the expansion than 1 classic pack from the brawl that we could play and the others didn’t. It would also be easier for Blizzard to just compensate all players, and they would have a happy community.

It goes without saying that 300g > 1 classic pack. The issue is that you were effected, hence you are not ENTITLED to any compensation.

How was I not affected? I couldn’t play the brawlisum so I didn’t have ANY chance to win gold or packs and ‘we’ only got one classic pack instead. Just because we didn’t log in immediately after the brawl came online. That doesn’t make much sense to me. I know they don’t have to compensate us, so none of us are entitled to anything for that matter. But if they want to make it fair for everyone they should compensate everyone, because everyone was affected by it, just in a different way maybe.

I don’t think it’s only about rewards – people affected by the bug weren’t able to PLAY Brawl at all. The point is that they were locked out of one of the game modes.

For many, Brawl is just “get a pack and leave”, a free weekly reward. But lots of casual players don’t really play Constructed and mostly play Brawls. I have a friend like that, he plays Brawl nearly exclusively, so he was basically locked out of Hearthstone for an entire week (he couldn’t play the replacement Brawl at all). It turned out fine, because he tested out Battlegrounds instead and liked it, but that’s another story 🙂

Long story short, 300g seems to be more of a compensation for people who were stripped of a basic game functionality – those who were unable to play the mode that others could play throughout the rest of that week after it came back. You, me, and a bunch of other players could just play the game like we normally can, without any extra issues besides a Brawl being delayed by 1 day.

I can see the argument of giving out the compensation to everyone, but the truth is that from a business perspective they want to give 300 gold only for those they really need to (because they already promised) instead of everyone. 300g is a lot, and it can be a difference between someone buying packs with real money or not (because all the freebies they’ve been giving out lately really add up).

It’s very difficult to judge who should be getting a reward and ofc blizzard will always think in a business perspective so for them it’s like juggling between keeping players happy and not giving away too much free stuff.
But lets say i started brawliseum and lost 3 games in a row but didn’t get me reward, but now i get 300 gold as compensation (is a very good compensation in this particular case). But lets say i won 12 games of brawliseum… now getting 300 gold feels just like a mediocre reward.

Why don’t they just give this compensation for everyone?

      November 26, 2019 at 1:25 am

Because not everyone was affected by it, I guess!?

How was not everyone affected if you couldn’t play the brawlisum just immediately when it was released? They took away our opportunity to win gold / packs with that brawl. So it makes no sense that people who for example only made a deck and didn’t play one match will also receive 300 gold.

Nice compensation, but I only start to believe it when I get my packs and gold. 😉

It is great that they are acknowledging the mistake, however they are making another one with the compensation. For instance, a player who heard about the brawliseum issues and thus decided to wait a day or two until they get resolved will be left without those 300 gold. With the new expansion on the horizon and based on it’s power level we have seen so far, those players will be handicapped, since they will be left without 3 extra DoD packs.
I have enough accumulated gold to not see much difference, but some F2P players might do.

i wonder how they keep track of players who downloaded and who didn’t,
and how they know whether you got stuck in brawl or not..
I managed to shuffle, but didn’t play any..

If they follow the same schedule (like in the battelgriund update) will be between 7 p.m and 8 p.m UTC+1
