People are talking like there arent two new 8/8s coming to this deck.
I like Jafars take on the variance involved. 30 cards in handlock. You have 1 out 10 chance to pull an absolute monster for free. This is extremely helpful if you’re behind but not while ahead.
As far as replacing jaraxxus. I usually dont even get to that point what with people conceding. They honestly assume that it’s just there. It can work really well to your advantage (not in a tournament format)
There will be 6 8/8’s in this deck you have a 3/15 to draw one at the start of the match. If you dont draw one for 2 turns, you have a 3/14 chance; typically drawing one every 7 cards. Thats not counting other meat like twilights and the ilk,
However the more you draw and dont get giants, the greater the chance that wilfred will pull what he needs to,
I could honestly see Wilfred and Thaurrison viable in this deck together.
Dont ask why I just think they would really compliment each other in the longer matches
We wont know anything until we can get to theory crafting and actually testplaying.
I’m extremely excited for this card.

the problem with this card is that it is really an (8) cost card because you need to combo it with hero power. however there is a card called garrison commander that costs (2) and lets you use hero power twice. so two cards for (0) mana is just crazy good. But another huge problem with this card is that is becomes USELESS WITH JARAXUS IN PLAY. No way in hell is this card going to be a staple in handlock unless it straight up replaces jaraxus. Emperor Thaurissan is overall a far more consistent card that will almost always provide great value since handlocks generally have lots of cards in hand AND it can be used with Jaraxus.

I read a lot of comments stating, that this card is not as powerful as it looks. I want to iterate. First, you want to play it in handlock. I don’t think it will make too much in sense in any other deck.

    1. “The average cost of a card is about 4 Mana, so on average you get a 4 Mana 4/4 if played on turn 8.” Well, while this is true, you often want to mulligan for low cost cards, which increases the average mana cost remaining in you deck. Also, when you want to play this effect is usually, when your hand is full of wheenies. In such a scenario, you would want to tap anyway. Also people seem to forget, that you can decide whether you want to play it or not. If the average cost in the remainder of your deck is 5 (after you’ve drawn many low cost cards), this is a 3 Mana 4/4, which is great.

    2. “It has too much variance”. While this is true, again, YOU are the one that decides the play. If you are ahead, you want to minimize variance, hence you don’t play him (unless you are forced to by said means stated above). However, if you are behind, high variance is an advantage, as it can bring back lost games. Hence WIlfred Fizzlebang is a card which is better when being behind, which makes it really strong. Also unlike Sylvanas (same stuff reg. the ahead/behind), it does have “pseudo-taunt”, which can help you survive.

Am I saying, that this is the strongest card revealed? No.
Am I saying, that it will be played in handlock and probably will be a staple in this deck? Yes.

Is this a fake spoiler? Why does it have the hearthstone watermark instead of the grand tournament one? On the text box it has the swirl instead of the shield!

Don’t forget it has 4 power which dodges priest spot removal.

I see this similarly to Summoning Portal. Obviously, it has better stats for two more mana and a much better effect, but otherwise it is just as slow and even weaker than Hogger stat wise for its mana cost.

It also competes with Emperor Thaurissan on the 6 mana slot who has an immediate and broder effect. Just my two cents.

Its maybe a bit too early to say wich is definetly OP but this card… OMG
I have never seen such an obvious OP card, except of Dr.7, than this one
It will fit in Handlock perfectly and may replace Emperor Thaurison I think.
