I really dislike this card. The fact that you only get spell damage for that turn is very annoying and also the fact that she is a 7 mana 5/6. Not great stats. Im not sure what deck could accommodate this card.

Card is fantastic, spell damage +2 on command is better than people think it is. However there aren’t that mana damaging hunter cards. Perhaps powershot will get some love. 4/5

People are blasting this card because it doesn’t tie in very well with the current Hunter meta and ignoring the fact that it’s extremely high-value on its own, and would be OP if it were for a class that would make better use of the spell damage.

Weapon stats are valued about the same as minion stats, although damage is weighted more highly than durability. So let’s say we count a 2/3 weapon as equivalent to a 2/2 body. That effectively gives her 7/8 in stats for 7, which is standard vanilla… except we’ve also got +2 Spell Damage now. And more to the point, it’s hard-to-remove Spell Damage, since most decks will run either zero or one weapon-removal effects, maybe two at most. A +2 Spell Damage minion will usually be removed on the opponent’s next turn, but here we can almost guarantee that we get to use it three times.

She’s not going to be the lynchpin of any deck, but she’ll be good value in any deck that was planning on including 4-6 (or more) damage dealing spells anyway.

Also, most sets seem to include at least one Hunter spell that deals damage and we haven’t seen one for this set yet, so we can guess one will be revealed later. If it turns out to be multi-target or able to go face, neither of which is unlikely, that will improve this card quite a bit.

    2 Cents:

Vereesa Windrunner is a rather cool card due to its well rounded mechanic: Having a weapon at battlecry, with the incentive of having +2 spell damage right-after this attacks.

The weapon is no laughing matter as well, no matter how bad a card may seem to appear on first glance, please be reminded that having a weapon which can attack instantly makes wonders and can technically be a better option than dropping nothing in the late game.

Hunters, due to the rotation, loses all of its control options and the best deck that I foresee to still run rampant is midrange hunter. Yes, this card may not be viable in a midrange hunter list but it enables user to have a tech which will be used to close out grindy games. There are times that your burn spells wouldn’t too much damage as the last hoorah into winning the game as hunter, but this card gives you a chance to go for the last push.

Lastly, concerning weapon removal, having this minion come down later in the game is rather a blessing – it enables you to push for weapon destruction cards from your opponent in the early stages of the game. Eaglehorn bows are attractive for weapon destruction, thus, a card couldn’t really be rated alongside with tech cards. Landing consistent Baited Arrows, boosting Kill Commands and other burn spells, can be considered more icings on the cake.

In general, Vereesa has potential, and never rule out the next 2 upcoming expansions, as this card doesn’t go worse – it just basically goes better and better with the hope of having more burns in future sets. If not, at least it’s decent.

I think the fact that the spell damage is basically “on demand” makes this rather good (play the card and wait for the best opportunity to play the spells).

It’s got a few other uses that get over looked eagle horn bow tends to get broken by self or oozed this can add a third weapon attached to a decent body minion that can support some of your spells the other weapon is more focussed on a beast deck also this is an ideal card to use with bloodscalp strategist which hasn’t been mentioned. Battlecry discover a spell if you have a weapon equiped probably get to play spell same turn for boosted power.

I would like to see powershot played at some point, as I believe I’ve never seen it actually in someone’s deck.

Ah the weapon brings me back into the burning crusade. Where the weapon was very sought after. Although the weapons great bonus was that it removed the need for hunter to have arrows sicne it gave them infinite ammo. Not shure why this gives them spell power and it has no infinite charges but it can see some use somewhere. Hunter’does not have board clears. His board clear is explosive trap and it can not benefit fro mspell power until the end of your turn, since it activates on your oponents turn.
ANother con is that this is a control oriented card, a bit poorly stated though but at least i don’t anyone OOzind your 2 attack weapon 😀
I just have the spot that this weapon should have been more OP. It was the ninja loot every warrior can hope for. Just imagine all the screams from the poor hunter who think ranged weapons are their birth right :D.

This makes all of the Hunter damage spells a lot stronger, obviously. The problem is that most Hunter damage spells suck. Are you going to include Multishot in your deck because synergy with one card in your deck can make it a little less awful? Didn’t think so.

Hunter has 3 good damage spells that this can interact with: Kill Command, Wing Blast and Baited Arrow. Synergy with spell damage is maximized for AoE spells, and for cheap damage spells you can spam; it’s worst for single target spells, expensive spells, and spells that can’t hit face (hello Flame Lance).

Synergy here is good with Kill Command; decent with Wing Blast; and poor with Baited Arrow. This can be good, but it needs more support in the form of good Hunter spells with good spell damage synergy. 2/5

Man, these Hunter legendaries. Why do they always have to look so niche and/or pointless ?

Might have something to do with the current power level of hunter and how they are not loosing as much from their tier 1 deck as everyone else. Seems a lot like druid heading into rumble, which I think is more than fair. Spell Damage hunter will probably be just as successful as AA druid. =D

This will see play baited arrow can now be triggered easily I’d consider a captain green skin make it 3/4 another interest is trigger it and drop Zuljin that’ll crazy.

This could easily be a top card for a spell-centric face hunter and maybe some mid-range builds. 4/5

I’ve done some of my homework for this card: a 7 Mana 5/6 as it is is like the qualitative of Baku’s Stats (9 Mana 7/8) But the Bow Itself is what’s interesting.

Arcane Shot: Good if you want to deal 10 Damage to the face in total, or if you want to take down injured or low-health Minions. (2 Damage from the Bow + 4 Damage + 4 Damage from both Arcane Shots.)

Bomb Toss: Not too sure how Bomb Hunter is going to fit into this, but it’s there. You could also use this for Zul’Jin annd it Guarantees that it won’t hit you in the face at the very least (but it can still hi your minions)

Kill Command: Pretty good. Deal 5 or 7 Damage to an Enemy, but be careful if you use Zul’Jin.

Multi-Shot: Very Powerful Clear Potential if your up against Big or Control.

Wing Blast: Pretty nice to have a Fireball against a minion.

Baited Arrow: 5 Mana 5/5 deal 4 Damage to a Minion is super nice.

Explosive Shot: Metor but it halved the Main Damage to buff the side damage a bit. Still good enough.

So Overall, I think that while Spell Hunter isn’t exactly going to be a thing for now, and we would need to wait some more to see what else is going to happen, This how DOES have some really nice potential for Control Hunter and even Beast Hunter, because of Baited Arrow, and Zul’Jin. If you Punch with the Bow and then Zul’Jin, You can gain +2 Attack from all of your spells. (but be careful because you can deal +2 damage to your own face, as well.) Give this card a shot, It’s not too terrible. (Pun intended.)

think a bit more this is at 7 cost so you will most likely not get the chance to use most of those spells in combination with this card. Your weapon can be destroyed. Although i see no value in doing so for now.
The greatest value with this weapon should be the potential to add more spel lpower to your existing one. But there is no other good spellpower minion you would want for now not even mally.
But if you can hit multiple times in a turn and gain all the 6 spells power in one turn with a mally arcane it may have some synergy although not that good of a synergy.
Griveous bite is the best card to combo with this but it is in wild so far. We must wait and see but i too doubt that this will be good and it is just an experiment to see how things are going with weapons adding extra effects to the game.

Personally I think this card is awesome because baited arrow might see more play in midrange hunter after rotation. But mainly, hunter can struggle sometimes to close out the game because as the late game approaches the opponent might heal up or start building armor and you might start losing momentum to kill them. Having a way to threaten closing out the game after playing highmane on 6 for instance; your opponent would have to play weapon removal and now you might be able to finish off the game if you have kill command or, possibly, arcane shots if the weapon sticks. I think it’s a huge threat and a super classy win condition. Finally, we can still expect more cards to come, so this might turn out to have more synergy with damaging spells they release.

This is cool, a boost to the various “shot” cards that never get any love.

The odds are against this kind of effect, though. Weak to aggro and doesn’t offer enough quite enough burst against control. Playing Multi-Shot/Arcane Shot/Explosive Shot without the damage boost probably isn’t worth it. Baited Arrow and Wing Blast are the best targets, but is that good enough reason to run this (and cut off being able to play Master’s Call and whatnot?) Also, with most of the “shot” spells you’re making your Zuljin turn less reliable by playing spells that can target your own minions. All in all seems like another “the class will have better things to do” legendary.

Completely agree, needs more synergy cards so maybe Hunter will get a mix of mech and spell?

A seven mana 5/6 plus a 2/3 weapon would be okay on it’s own as a strong Arena card. With the added effect of the card making it quite easy for double Kill Command to burst for fourteen damage and for Baited Arrow to Overkill, Vereesa Windrunner should be pretty alright for constructed.

At the very least, it’ll have its useful applications.

Naw man. This card is much more than meets the eye. While some of hunters spells are rotating out, others like baited arrow, multi-shot, wing blast, and bomb toss remain and can use this. Not to mention any hunter spells that come out in the future

yes please dust so I can laugh at you as you craft it for a meta deck.

How could someone think this is bad in the low power level upcoming meta?!?!

        March 26, 2019 at 12:19 pm

Will dust it, and will never craft it, I exclusively play priest, I dust every other class cards.

So I still see 400 dust here, 1600 if I’m unfortunately lucky.

            March 26, 2019 at 1:37 pm

I like priest, I like the overall strategy of the class, I like deck building and have access to a lot of cards. So why not focus on one class? The class I like. I have a pile of dust waiting for this expansion to come out to be used to get the complete collection (neutrals + priest) from day 1, like I did with every other expansion.

            March 26, 2019 at 2:56 pm

Priest is my favorite class too. No shame in playing only one class but op made it sound like the card was dust, not that they were dusting it anyway smh

playing priest is easy all you need is barnes y’sharaj and draw the first on turn 4 :D. Having fun with priest not that much. I am hoping for zerek master cloner to get some more synergy so that my thaddius decks would get more consistency :D. Who would have guessed that the double dead ringers can almost every time give you the stalag feugen combo. And with twilights call and those being your only deathrattles and few extra seanses you can spam 11/11 all you want. And it makes your n’zoth turn a lot more funny 😀 If you can survive until that time :D.

Don’t play wild, but hell I miss n’zoth and barnes. I gave zerek a chance, when you reach the point you can copy it and get the ball rolling is satisfying, but usually you get rekt way earlier lol. It’s fun because most people don’t expects him.
