I could see this in maybe wild big warrior but not much else, still it’s generally an ok card if you have the boom hero in play already. Since the ceiling for this card is pretty high I give it 3/5.

warrior doesnt have early spells to play with this anymore nor control in standard. Also, if playing wild, Varian is INFINITELY better than this as it gives a huge board tempo swing. this card would have to pull something ginormous in order for it to be good, and mecha-thun doesn’t work with it as it says “summon a COPY of a minion in your deck and give it rush.” this card feels more like an epic, not legendary and if it wanted to be legendary i feel like charge, while yes much more powerful and annoying, would make this card feel more worth crafting.

    Good art… but 10 mana?

Why is Warrior always underpowered compared to Priest last years of HS.

would have to play it on another turn and probably not the best thing you can do on that turn with the rng involved. It could be good with hero dr.boom though

Was hoping for some more flavorful and more impacting 2nd warrior legendary, hopefully related to dragons or armor. As stand alone card is not impressive at all. It can and probably will see play however via omega assembly and Dr. boom hero power.

This is copy number 3 of dimensional ripper, and with the amount of combo hate floating about, i don’t think that some redundancy hurts this deck. It’s also copy number 3 of big rush mech kills your opponents board. It might even make it feasible to run smaller mechs because a wiff isn’t so bad?

This ‘could’ be good if you could play it with the spirit on board?

Thing is, why wouldn’t you want to be hero Dr Boom’ing at this stage and all mechs have rush anyway. Hmmm.

It depends on what card it pulls out the deck if it’s not a mech while have boom or you haven’t played boom yet and it’s a mech then this has value. I’ve gone a game and Dr boom was in my last 5 cards.

You know I think I see what they’re doing with warrior it looks like warrior is gearing more towards late game combat and using control and stall for early to midgame. Bombs require you to wait for opponent to draw them the armor gain helps to survive longer. The rush component is for trading minions to keep board control Omega devastator is basically a late game removal or a midgame trading minion. We have a 10 Mana summon 2 copies and this summon 1 copy with rush. So I’d guess we’re looking at a rush mech warrior deck. Early game is for armor gain mostly mid has few minions and late game is when start smashing. It’s a slow deck type but if look at warriors as a class they are the ones who have to take the damage and out last the enemy. This is gearing warriors to be a little more like a tank. A key card to this play as a clue is spirit of the rhino turn rushes are summoned they’re immune meaning can smash anything without fear. I think the main problem is everyone’s been so used to these over powering early-mid game burst decks with constant pressures with overpowered taunts for what they can provide in longer game and combo decks.

I left a similar comment on Dimensional Ripper. Big warrior needs support, and this ain’t it, chief. 2.5/5

I don’t like this card at all. I had high expectations for the second warrior legendary reveal, and I get this piece of garbage. Its 10 mana for a bad stated minion and a random minion in your deck with rush. You know what is way better than this, boomship, it summons 3, I repeat 3 minions from your hand and give all of them rush. Boom reaver is just a a way worse version of boomship. Its only decent if you get it from omega assembly while you already have the doctor boom hero card in play. 1 out 5 for me, 2 out 5 with boom hero.

I don’t think Warrior has the cards itself to make this a 5/5, and there’s not enough big mana threats to warrant the Rush.

That said, despite it’s statline being rubbish for 10 mana, pulling a big threat that can instantly act with Rush, and being able to Magnetize the bot to make it a more dangerous threat, does have some merit to it.

Something to look at when bigger cards are available to Warrior, but for the meantime I don’t think will see serious play this expansion.

Feels kinda redundant with Dimensional Ripper. As others have said, Warrior already has the tools to get big threats onto the board, just not the threats themselves.

I think part that forgetting when comes to this and dimmensional ripper is that it summons a copy like the shadow essence for priest that was a 6 cost spell for a 5/5 version. For big warrior it’s 2 10 cost cards but one summons 2 as a spell and the other summons 1 with rush of a card with full power. Yes it’s a waste if you low-ball it but there are cards like witchwood Piper if need to pull out your spirit of rhinos. Yeah it isn’t a great pull from the spell if in deck but it’s better than using spell and grabbing the spirit. Also a 3/3 with rush still makes 10/12 stats with this card. Best point is that you will still have that minion in your deck to draw into the problem that came with other recruit mechanics was if opponent had removal power you may run out as thinned deck with recruit.

You still need multiple threats in the deck though, because even though you’re not removing them by playing Ripper or this, there’s still the danger of just drawing them normally at some point. Depending on how slow the meta is, you’ll need between four and six high-quality cards to ensure that there are at least two good ones you haven’t drawn yet and can still hit with Ripper. Then two copies of Ripper plus this and about a quarter of your deck is going to be unplayable before Turn 9…

That’s not unacceptable, but it is going to make it difficult to curve well through the earlier stages of the game.

        • Lluadian
          April 3, 2019 at 7:39 am

I don’t think anyone would bother with 2 copies of ripper just 1 could be enough the people most likely to play with these cards are those with deck trackers so they have an idea at all times what could be pulled. Also it’s not necessarily that the deck has only late game power there’s a few lower cards can use Omega devastator is a valuable card for on curve or late game clear. Also the 2 cost add 2 random dragons to your hand and any other spells may have that generate minions could help avoid haveing to many low cost. But there is the fact that bomb warrior is also a slow deck focussed more on control. There may be a balance in there even if card pulled isn’t that strong if it were to summon a copy of say a taunt minion that has value even if don’t use the rush. If ran this through a mech deck all it does is just summon minions that if don’t kill through rush they can be another magnetize target.

That’s sort of what I mean by redundant, though. If you’re only going to run two “make copies of minions cards” anyway, there’s not that much difference between 2x Ripper, or 1x Ripper plus this.

I think people are sleeping on this. It’s super slow, and most definitely not a 5/5, but in a control deck this looks quite good. You’re getting decent, if unexciting, stats, and you instantly get to deal damage to an opposing minion and/or create additional board presence by adding another body. Plus, the mech tag means it gets rush from Dr. Boom and can be found from both Omega Assembly and Delivery Drone. Varian Wrynn saw some play, but his issue was that you often wouldn’t draw minions, you would draw weak minions and miss out on useful battlecries, and that it didn’t do anything immediately impactful. Comparatively, this card gives you +2 health, a relevant minion type, and immediate board impact without eliminating an important battlecry minion or putting you closer to fatigue. I give it 4/5 and have solid hopes for this card.

Pretty okay if you have Dr. Boom in play as it gives this rush on top of (hopefully) pulling a big minion. I’d like to see a big rush minion for warrior so Akali could work better in this deck.. Right now the best option is Oondasta? I guess. All in all a decent card for the archetype but it certainly needs more help to get the deck anywhere.

I concur. We need more big bois for big boi decks to function accordingly.

People seem to vote badly cards like this and Dimensional Ripper, but Blizzard seems to push for a Big Warrior theme this expansion, so it might not be that bad altogether… Think of it in the list of current Big Priest

Warrior doesn’t have many big minions so far this expansion, so without those cards Big Warrior doesn’t have much of a future in standard.

        April 3, 2019 at 4:21 am

Most the better minions of big warrior we’re from wild anyway. Besides I can just imagine pulling bull dozer with this when I haven’t played Dr boom yet. Thats one minion where getting it cheap or free with rush is insane don’t even need a spirit of rhino.

  17. Taznak

Recruit Warrior needs big, lategame threats to recruit. Ysera and Grom are a good start, but you need more; where are Ragnaros and Yip and The Lich King? Are you seriously supposed to replace them with Bull Dozer and Deranged Doctor?

This needs better lategame threats to come out before it’s good. 3/5

If your playing a deck with some rush cards pulling Akali with this is pretty good sure it’s 5/5 but if overkills something you get another rush to hand with +5/5 and if you tagged Akali with that you’d have an 8 cost 10/10 Akali in your hand. Thats why I figure this will be a late game rush mech warrior deck.

I think it’s kind of inevitable, in that Dr. Boom is one of the few persistent value generation cards left with all of the Death Knight hero cards rotating out. This gives Warrior an edge in control mirror matches… which is why the actual control cards Warrior is getting are so underwhelming (Dr. Boom’s scheme, for example).

The existence of the Dr. Boom hero card kind of forces Control Warrior archetypes to be built around it, which is a shame.

Nice that it summons a copy. Still too slow though.

All of big warrior’s cards (Lich King, Geosculptor Yip, Rotface) are rotation out this expansion, so I have trouble seeing this working without some serious support.

Uhhh we still need better minions to serve as the payoff for this effect IMO. Battlecry means this plays awkward with The Boomship and Dimensional Ripper.

It would have been avarage card if it was an epic. But as a legendary, it’s just bad.
