As usual as other legendary cards of hunter, this one is broken too and so useless too and so easy to counter.

Hunter is my favourite class, but this feels like a trap card…

As so many have already pointed out, 7 mana minions were lacking from hunter, so this definitely is a good inclusion in midrange.

What I really love about this card is that it limits your opponents plays, defends your board, threatens him next turn for 9, and can force a removal response. This innate versatility allows this card to force out a response, but pretty much limits this response to spells (or adapt RNG). And while yes, it is likely to get hexed/morphed/removed other ways, we have to remember that not every class has access to easy targeted removal, and that even if they do, their deck size is limited. A removal on this means no removal to one of your highmanes/any other OP hunter minion that is surely coming this expansion

This is a good massive card that supresses the enemy so yes fantastic card

It’s probably not going to be that good … but I really love the idea of a big giant dinosaur scanning the undergrowth looking for movement and leaping on the first unfortunate creature to appear – even if it is poisonous.

This guy gets hard countered by two Magma Ragers.

    • Blux
      March 21, 2017 at 8:32 am

When was the last time you saw a magma rager in competitive or casual?

    • J-rod
      March 21, 2017 at 10:38 am

who actually runs 2 magma ragers tho?

    • Name
      March 22, 2017 at 12:30 am

Not really…you’re spending 6 mana and 2 cards to counter 7 mana and 1 card…it’s not even that effective even if you had two magma ragers in hand.

No one plays ragers, even if it counters swamp King dred

If somehow adapt cards see no or little play, this card can be strong.

As a long time hunter player, I think this card COULD be good. Most likely, though, it will end up in the same boat as Knuckles.

Big Minion in Hunter+No battlecry/deathrattle=Unplayable garbage often times. Hopefully I am proven wrong.

I’m wondering if it hits before or after Battlecries. Looking for someone to play Yogg into him XD

    • Dooeh
      March 19, 2017 at 10:05 am

It says “after” so i guess it’s after the battlecry activates.

Which is why the card is bad. I really tried to like him, I saw a lot of people try at the beggining of the season too, and probably if Paladin wasn’t it would be less stinky, but Aldor Peacekeeper is just insane against this.

Ohhh, so this is why sylvanas had to go.

there’s just so many ways to deal with big minions like this… throw in the Adapt mechanic where you can find Poisonous and Divine shields… not sure.

Plus hunter is in really sad shape right now… they can’t even get to turn 7 most games….

plus Control Hunter just isn’t a thing.

bleak prospects for this one. but we shall see

    Would he attack stealth minions?

  18. Nandiman
    March 18, 2017 at 12:06 am

Opponent plays pit snake/king cobra/patient assassin. Rexxar makes sad noises.

      March 21, 2017 at 4:35 am

LOL do you play any of these cards in your deck? the answer is no beacuse these cards are bad and they will be bad even after the expansion so King Dred is really good…

      • Not Really
        March 22, 2017 at 12:33 am

Actually patient assasin is pretty decent. Aside from arcane missiles and maelstrom portal it doesn’t have many counters and can seriously hinder your opponent, since if they play anything good: the assasin just kills it.
Pit snake and emporer cobra are harder to play though.

    March 17, 2017 at 4:43 pm

This card is a control card that’s only good if you have decent control of the board. It will probably always kill one card at the very least they will have to use a big spell to clear it a 4.5 star card what hunter needed

Pit Snake, the hero we deserve xD

      LOL Pit Snake….

if you run that card in your deck….

i might have to cry for you.

Hey, rank 15 masters! What if I told you that this card is unplayable garbage? 🙂 “7 mana – do nothing” is never good, especially in such an aggressive class like hunter. 1/10 unless a miracle happens.

    • Speedy
      March 17, 2017 at 4:20 pm

7 mana do nothing is never good.

      Like Dr Boom.

      • SirHeckerstein
        March 17, 2017 at 5:36 pm

Thats a fairly bad comparison, Dr Boom sure was a 7 mana do nothing card, but one that won the board for you either instantly or the turn after.

        • memehat82
          March 17, 2017 at 8:09 pm

This card does not have an ‘instant effect’ but it does meddle with the board versus something like a pit fighter.

    • Immolate
      March 17, 2017 at 8:25 pm

“7 mana – do nothing is never good.”

Because a 7 mana 9/9 that demands an answer and prevents your opponent from playing all but a few select minions is bad. Also, there is a decent chance that your opponent has no way to deal with this card if he just got done dealing with a Highmane.

      • Avargaque
        March 18, 2017 at 4:54 pm

It is a dead card against aggro and I’m pretty sure that control decks DO have more than one answer on turn 7.

        March 23, 2017 at 10:15 am

Im really glad you pointed this out bc everyone seems to forget the amazing stat value and how much they need to play around it

          May 3, 2017 at 2:19 pm

          Aaaaaannd the card is crap.

      March 18, 2017 at 11:28 am

World Champion, we are very sorry of thinking that a 7 mana 9/9 is good. =/

  22. Fanderay
    March 17, 2017 at 2:58 pm

Isn’t too easy to play around this card? I mean, you know when the card is on the board and you know what it is forced to do. This means that, as the opponent, you could even get advantage from this card, like playing a deathrattle or trigger a secret.

    • Bagern
      March 28, 2017 at 3:44 pm

You cant trigger a secret in your turn.
Well, trigger a deathrattle? It would just trigger later, cause i never seen a silence card in hunter. Also playing drathrattle minion just for the deathrattle cant be good. (Since stlvanass goes to wild)

    March 17, 2017 at 2:16 pm

Well, then. What about Jaraxxus counter?

    • zachary
      March 17, 2017 at 5:43 pm

i dont know his interactions wiht jaraxxus, but ussually you resolve battlecries before triggered so dred might hit face or he might not do anything.

I’ve got a feeling that the same thing will happen to hunter that happened to shaman. This card is too strong in my opinion… ye sure, it would get hard countered by Sylvanas… ahem, oh right, she rotates out of standard. Then maybe by poisonous cards (as Megapajo mentioned above) that noone plays at all. I know-I know its way too early to get salty.

    • Jamie Murphy
      March 17, 2017 at 6:09 pm

Though not much of the set is revealed we do know that adapt contains the keyword poisonous as an option. So far druid is the only class that we know contains adapt though it can be assumed that other classes will have access to this as well. I think if it gets too bad players will put in extra poisonous to counter this though there are plenty of more efficient plays for hunter to make in standard. At the moment not excited by this legendary or scared of playing against it.

Its a great card imho and also funny design.

with 9HP it can deal with all the big 8 HP guys

    March 17, 2017 at 1:22 pm

So sad that Sylvanas will be out of Standart, would be cool to throw her out vs this one.

Awesome card but can be hard countered by poisonous cards
