This could have been better than Amani Berserker in the old Tempo Aluneth Mage (RIP Mana Wyrm). Still, solid 2-drop which can have a good upside. Glad to see more 2-drops challenging the Keleseth reign.

Anyone else see this with warriors wapath? That’s 4 dmg for 6 mana going up to 6 dmg at 10.

That’s not much of a benefit, but a warrior running Whirlwind might also run this as a two drop to counter aggro.

It does combo with slam and shield slam. Shield slam would do guaranteed 2 dmg even with no armor.

This is clearly an Even Mage card I would say. The minion is a decent 2 drop just on stats, but then with 1 cost ping it’s great (1 Mana for +2 Spell Damage this turn, maybe next turn too) especially with the amount of decent face damage in any potential Even Mage deck.

Still could be situational though. Mage/Rogue 2.5/5, Even Mage 4/5

Remember that tempo mage used cosmic anomaly (it cost 4 mana), and almost never used it at tempo but could cause large amounts of damage with a few cheap spells, this can work as drop 2 or for combo being more versatile, having more sources of +2 spell damage would further facilitate oblitering the opponent :v

This + Defile is pretty damn good.

If there is a 1 hp minion it is a flamestrike for 4 mana and 2 cards.

Mage miiiight play this in aggro, the same way it played Armani Berserker. I feel like Armani pumps out better damage though.

Rogue might feel fine playing this to turn Backstab, Shiv, and especially Fan of Knives into a real threat. 3 damage AoE really hits the sweet spot- if you’ve been playing Miracle lately, you know how boards of 3/3s (Greater Emerald Spellstone, Zoolock) were practically an instant loss. Backstab, Shiv, or even a Razorpetal can reliably activate this, but honestly I think you’re fine playing it T2- it makes things plenty awkward for your opponent on its own.

Rogue board clear rogue board clear.
Probably not good enough though, no easy way to damage it consistently. Oh well, maybe some other expansion…

Play fan of knives on curve for draw and a slightly weaker but cheaper flamestrike.

Good in mage, if you ping it you basically get Evolved Kobold and that was played in freeze mage so it could be ok in some deck. And it works well with defile so I think this card is quite fine! Might see a bit of play.

Seems like a good card to me
