Very nice card stats are basically 2 cost worthy but a discover targeting mage minions is great sure there's a few probably don't want but others can be usefull in a pinch I dream of pulling a second janalai with it as I'm sure others will but there's others of value as well malacrass and tokigenerate value possibly an arcanosaur for a curve board clear at 6. Basically it's a card for generating value possibly useable by a tempoish mage due to losing some drawing power.

  3. Freedon

Good value, and could find a place in control decks if the consistency of pulling mage's big legendaries is high enough. Nice card for F2P players, decent for arena. 3/5

  4. JustYourAveragePayToWin

Slightly weak, yes. Absolutely horrible, no. 3/5

  5. EksSkellybur

Stonehill Defender but for Mage and with mage Value instead of Taunts.

    I'll take it.

    1. Moonlit Butterfly123

"I will", not "I'll" and you capitalised "value" when it never needed a capital letter, you hypocrite.

      1. Moonlit Butterfly123

Sorry. Ignore my comment. I thought you were someone else. My mistake ._. .

    2. Moonlit Butterfly123

I would remove my comment if I could. I'm just sorry for even typing that. I thought you were that hypocrite.

  6. DukeStarswisher

I think this will be one of the underrated cards of the set. The specificity of "mage minions" and discover makes this particularly great for versatility. I would run this in some kind of control for sure.

This is going in the meme collection as well make a deck using nothing but cards of that class and try to get a win. Some classes had it easy *looks at Spell Hunter* but it's an interesting challenge for other classes rogue was in top 3 for effectiveness with thief build.

      1. DukeStarswisher

I have no idea what you just said. Try not using run-on sentences?

        1. Moonlit Butterfly123

@DukeStarswisher, your username is also ungrammatical (it should be "Duke Starswisher").

          1. DukeStarswisher

LOL coming at my username? Don't try too hard.

          2. Moonlit Butterfly123

You missed out a comma after the "LOL" and it is "do not", not "don't". Also, your first sentence is just ungrammatical. "Coming at my username"? That makes no sense. Try again, hypocrite. But hey, I enjoy putting idiots such as yourself in your place. You pick on other people's grammar and someone such as myself comes to expose you for being a hypocrite.

But please do embarrass yourself even further it if makes you feel better, you obtrusive pest.

          3. Moonlit Butterfly123

Of course, name comment was for you, Duke Starswisher (not "DukeStarswisher").

          4. Moonlit Butterfly123

Not to mention when I typed "name comment", I meant "my comment". But my mishaps in grammar is not the point. All I wanted to do was have my fun in putting you in your place by exposing you. Now, be a good boy/girl and do not respond. Also, do not comment on this website again.

        2. Moonlit Butterfly123

Just do me a favour and do not comment on this website again because you are obviously not needed, But you seem to like embarrassing yourself since you made multiple grammar mistakes in your recent comment (The first sentence being ungrammatical as "coming at my username" makes no sense at all. Please learn how to construct sentences properly.) But yes, I put you in your place and you carried on. There is no need for you to carry on. Why? Because you dig yourself a bigger hole. But then, you just do not learn. I have put you in your place and you are making yourself seem even worse and cause yourself to become even more of a hypocrite.

But yes, pay attention to your own grammar instead of judging other people on theirs and embarrassing yourself.

          1. DukeStarswisher

            You are literally insane.

          2. luca

I read all of this 4 months later, but I want to genuinely thank you for granting me an entertaining ten minutes.:)

  7. GlosuuLang

The problem with Mage minions is that they are generally weak. You also won't pull a Taunt out of this...

  8. Soup And Salad

Kabal Lackey saw play in slower mage decks, especially Reno, while that card was Standard legal, so Messenger Raven really should find its way into at least one or two viable decks over the course of its career.

Obviously as a common, there isn't a whole lot of complexity to discuss here, but it's far from a terrible card.

  9. css09

0 for creativity with the card art and name. Raven Familiar anyone?

    1. Poison

      agree

  10. Taznak

Worse than Pyromaniac for sure. Maybe Mage also wants this as a one-of to fill out its curve. 3/5

  11. GcolayaHS

    Zoo mage is here!

  12. minti

This will not see any play in wild. Tempo is kind of a dead archetype. And as soon as mage gets lackeys. Sine as the year progresses we get more lackeys and more people that give you lackeys. So if tempo mage fails this expansion it may get more consistency later on but if it fails now it will fail later on too.
But with some lackey swimming in your deck this can be great.

  13. DeanyWeany

(Rating based on play it will see in the upcoming meta, similar to trump’s ratings)

    3 Stars

There are around 8 okay cards, 11 great cards and 10 really bad cards you could get from this (currently).
So on average you will get to pick a really good card. The more aggressive statline (compared to stonehill) makes the lack of taunt less of a problem. A very decent card, will see decent amounts of play, but not always played, in most likely tier 2 decks.

    1. Moonlit Butterfly123

Wrong again. The rating for this one is 3.5/5 (as of now).

      1. DeanyWeany

        Care to elaborate? Again?

  14. Decycle

5/5 the effect is just too strong

    1. Decycle

You’ll see how powerful this card and mage is when the expansion comes out

  15. Ewalden

I just really like this card!

It won't actually be useful for every deck, but there are many decks in which it will find a home. It does grant value, and depending on what mage minion you discover that value could be immense. It is gambling a bit, playing with fate.

I just really like this card!
