    8/10
Hoarding Dragon wishes it could be as good as this card. In the situations where you don’t accidentally give them a Gastropod or a Doomsayer, your dominance over your opponent it promptly asserted when this beast hits the battlefield. But even if you’re not so lucky, you could still theoretically use your remaining four mana to deal with the mess you’ve made. Unless you drop this on curve; your board better be strong in that case.

Actually this is a card you want to pull it the new recruit mechanic, in that case it has no drawbacks.

Well, this is similar to Hungry Dragon at a glance. So if we add costs, this is effectively an 8 mana 4/10 taunt, which sounds pretty bad. But since you can play it early, it might make a good anti-aggro card if needed, and its a good target to recruit (though it’s hard to find a way to specifically get this card to come out from recruit). It’s also a good hail mary for a Doomsayer wipe. In general though, I don’t think this card will make it.

In Arena, it’s poor but possibly playable in a pinch, similar to Hungry Dragon.

    Standard: 1/5
    Arena: 2/5

Hmm, what deck is currently underpowered against other Druid and Priest decks, really really likes big Taunt minions, and usually doesn’t have a solid card for the 6 drop slot?

My beautiful Taunt Warrior, I have missed you so much.

This is also a potential summon from Moonglade Portal…

Unfortunately Moonglade Portal rotates to Wild at the same time as the worst 6 drops it can pull:

    – Big-Time Racketeer
    – Corrupted Seer
    – Moat Lurker

So that means the pool of 6 drops it can draw from won’t be significantly stronger at any point.

    • The rotation doesn’t happen until the 1st set of 2018

Idk how you guys aren’t seeing how this could counter quest mage, if you are keeping track of their plays you can easily snipe an apprentice out of their deck.

    Like hungry dragon but bigger.
Giving your opponent a 2-cost minion for +1 stat point and taunt doesn’t sound that good, even though it’s well stated for a taunt.

Not very good, u could even summon a Doomsayer, Patient assassin, Dirty rat or a Stubborn gastropod. Too much rng to be good.

      November 27, 2017 at 8:29 am

I did some maths, and the worst outcomes (2 2/6 taunts, two poisonous minions and doomsayer) are only 8% of the total 2-drops in the game, 5% if you don’t count dirty rat and the warrior’s 2/6 with taunt

        November 27, 2017 at 9:55 am

Yes but i think it’s enough to not see play. Hungry dragon is similar.

The difference is that this has taunt. There are decks that want a big lump of stats that happen to keep you from dying. It’s not a great card, but it might be playable.

It’s from their deck, so those minions are a lot more than 8 percent…

I like it. Doesn’t have a drawback if you recruit it and you can play it keeping an eye on what he’s going to summon so you can remove it if you’ve got a weapon or a removal in your hand.

I think we’ll see more like this: well stated minions with drawback battlecry effects (like this, charged devilsaur and leeroy jenkins) being played in recruit decks.

Now that Priest got an unconditional full board clear on 7, I feel like no other cards matter. And I say that as a Priest player. Otherwise, I like this.

    • Crapcrack
      November 27, 2017 at 3:25 am

Yep, Priest’s new board clear is insanity. Even better than Nether!

The taunt makes this more appealing than Hungry Dragon at first glance, but the taunt isn’t worth the 2 missing stats the card should otherwise have for summoning the 2 drop for the opponent. Plus, the two drop category contains some of the best or at least most annoying minions this game currently has to offer. However, no matter what the final say on this card ends up being, this kind of card design is boring and played out. Over statted minion with some sort of draw back in the form of giving your opponent free stuff just this time with taunt and the possibility of creating a board clear. From off of the top of my head there’s King Mukla, Hungry Dragon, the new hoarding dragon, Cornered Sentry, Dirty Rat when played by an idiot, and The Beast.
What would be more interesting is if the card text read “Battlecry: Summon a random 2 cost minion for your opponent. Then this card attacks it,” instead.
Then it becomes an interesting gamble that certain classes like Priest and Paladin can at least compensate for, but it usually will end up being an Ancient of Blossoms with 4 attack. It can end up being more, it could occasionally summon something that’ll survive for your opponent to use, it’ll sometimes draw your opponent a card, and it’ll ever so often kill itself, all depending on what it summons.

I suppose I’d rather have bad to mediocre cards being interesting thought experiments like the MtG card One with Nothing than stupid, forgettable filler like Spellweaver.

I think the question here is, “would you need bog creeper-like stats one turn earlier?”
We don’t really see much of that card right now, but still more cards to look at.

Idk what to think. Ancient of blossoms was horrible, and this is a 3 stat upgrade for a 5 stat loss, but 4 attack is great against priest and it’s really hard to remove at 10 health without the opponent sacrificing a lot of spell/minions. If this gets polymorphed it’s not that bad cuz it’s just a 6-cost minion. I think it will see a little play

    Arena:5/5
    Constructed: 2/5

I didn’t realize it was a battlecry that changes my rating to 3/5, as when someone plays a cornered sentry, the raptors don’t become very useful. The only bad thing is that 2 drops can be good. This can spawn into anything from fire plumeharbinger to doomsayer or Millhouse mana storm. It can also be helpful to you with darkfisher and cho

This is a bad card to evolve. The draw back is a battlecry. And because of that, it’s already well stated.

        November 27, 2017 at 12:45 am

I think he meant you can get this minion from evolving dopplegangers, because it is a 6 cost minion. This is just another sick minion to evolve things into

          This.

Also, saronite chain gang into shaman dk.

Tris card will be a pain, especially for priest because the 4 attack.
