It’s quite funny if you summon Addled Grizzly as, for an obscure reason, the grizzly enters the battlefield and immediately boosts the Summoner +1/+1.
I watched one of my friend whom that happened and we were like “wtf”?

wow… 3 mana 5/5 effectively. This and master of evolution are the tow cards that stick out to me as being the most influential top cards out of this set.

I was doing my research, as one does, and turns out from what we have so far the worst 3-drop we can get is Edwin VanCleef, I’m fine with this it’s a 6 mana 7/7 at worst!

If this card summons Bran I am assuming the battle cry doesn’t go off twice? Much like how with yog saron Bran has to be on the field before Yog is played and even if Bran dies then the battle cry still goes off twice.
    I wanna know!

It shouldn’t. Think about the stack of actions created there:
Play FS -> battlecry activates -> summons Brann -> done.

Brann would only activate if it were out before the battlecry triggered.

Welp. Arena mage is now even more OP. If mage was a more minion-focused class, this card would probably be an auto-include in constructed… Even without the staying power of Dr. 4, the tempo this brings is near-impossible to top.

I don’t like it, this card can only go 2 ways:

    1. its just as good as piloted shredder making it a card used in almost every mage deck (which wouldn’t be fun since piloted goes away for a reason)

    2. its not good, it can’t compete with the other 6 mana drops and the 3 mana minions are pretty weak without their battlecry, making this card just as ‘good’ as mounted raptor which doesn’t see play

I think it’ll be the first one since the 6 mana minions are mostly pretty weak, but the 3 drops really are alot worse than the 2 drops in my opinion

waaaaiiiit, its a battlecry….. oh well forget all that its a pretty good card, 2 bodies have their edvantages and disadvantages so… I guess if a mage deck has a spot this could be put in

I’ll try not to go too in depth on my redicule but all try not to go too in depth on my redicule but are you high?

This card is pretty damn good. But it’s actually a lot different than shredder.

One upside over shredder is the fact it makes an immediate impact on the board with typically overwhelming stats (which by the way, mounted raptor is a 3 drop. And idk what game youre playing but raptor is seeing quite a bit of play in druid and will probably see more with the new format.)

Downsides are it’s a six drop. Which means its getting more into the mid late game, rather than the mid early game shredder does.( But it is a GOOD six drop, I doubt there are too many 6 drops to compete with this honestly.)

Also both minions are vulnerable to 1 AOE card unlike shredder.

Overall this card is good. You want the 3 drop for pure stats and not getting the battlecry is irrelevant. An aldor peacekeeper is still a 3/3 for example. Giving you an 8/8 for 6. And last I checked thats pretty damn good.re you high?

Also the sheer fact that polymorph, hex, and silences don’t negate the effect, is another plus over shredder.

Your just wrong. Anything with 2/2 or more worth of stats makes this card pretty worth it.

      • Bill
        April 13, 2016 at 2:06 pm

Not really, silver hand knight is a 4/4 5 mana card that summons a 2/2. Essentially, SHN should be OP with 6/6 in stats on turn 5. However, this isnt the case because it falls victim to board clears and the fact that dealing 2 damage makes it a 4/4. While i think this card is better, it needs to do more than summon a vanilla 2/2

        • Terrordactyl
          April 13, 2016 at 2:21 pm

Well yeah but silver hand knight would be played if it had the option to summon something better. Without being angry about a typical 2/2.

        • ViashinoWizard
          April 14, 2016 at 11:47 am

A 5 mana 6/6 isn’t necessarily better than a 4/4 and a 2/2. With SHK you can divide the damage more flexibly, making it better against multiple small minions, and two bodies makes it less vulnerable to single-target removal and high attack/low health minions.

      • Xander Raidon
        April 13, 2016 at 2:12 pm

I’m not saying 2/2 or 2/3 is bad for this card, I’m saying they’re bad compared with other 3 drops you can get.

My point was to show how many amazingly good 3 drops there are, not to talk whether this card is worth when getting a 2/2 out of the effect.

      Void Terror and Whirling Zap-o-Matic aren’t 3 drops…

      • ViashinoWizard
        April 14, 2016 at 11:48 am

Zap-o isn’t, but Void Terror is (you just usually don’t want to play it on-curve).

    • Zenith
      April 13, 2016 at 10:10 pm

Whirling-zap-o-matic is a 2 drop, but other than that I pretty much agree

    • FlamewakerDeservesLoveToo
      April 14, 2016 at 10:08 am

Flamewaker “situational”? You know this is a MAGE minion right? You’re going to have spells in any deck that uses this, literally with flamewaker the only way it isn’t amazing is that it gets killed immediately without costing the opponent a card, but if the opponent has to use a card to kill the flamewaker or if the flamewaker stays up so that you can cast spells then it’s the best thing you can get (2nd only to mukla).
By the way Whirling zap-o-matic is a 2 drop, both of the 3/4 angels don’t matter in mage because mage doesn’t buff creatures ever, and I’d argue that Mukla can be one above holy damn just because a 10/10 for 6 mana is the best stats ever, and a really good distribution too.

      April 15, 2016 at 10:02 am

I just want to bring up the fact (I haven’t read all of the replays so I don’t know if it has been brought up already) that a few of these are going out of standard as soon as this card is released, so it could do better in wild than standard or vice versa

A piloted shredder for Mage, hell yeah.

  11. Foodbeard
    April 13, 2016 at 12:23 pm

This is interesting–it’s a huge pile of stats (on average) in a class that can’t take the best advantage of it. Is it strong enough to justify reducing overall spell synergy in your mage deck? My guess would be “definitely.” This gives mages an option if they want to fight for the late-game board. Even with an average result of 3/3 stats from the battlecry, this 6-drop can contest most 7- and 8-drops, meaning mage could have huge tempo turns in the late game where they suddenly develop a board and also play a spell.

I’m also pretty concerned that it’s a common. It’s an insanely strong Arena card and you’ll see it in a LOT of mage decks, which is something I don’t look forward to.

      April 14, 2016 at 11:50 am

Even if your opponent uses their hero power, you’ve effectively played a 4 mana 5/5, screwed with their mana curve, and possibly dealt 5 to their face. Not a bad deal.

  15. Brownbear
    April 13, 2016 at 11:56 am

This card is really good, provides another random 3 cost minion for an extra mana. At the best you could get a Mukla, and at the worst an alarm-o-bot, which could pull a huge minion out of your hand without the mana cost anyways. This card is pretty good.

  16. Davidus707
    April 13, 2016 at 11:52 am

It would make tiempo mage viable un standard. But what I dont like of this card is that helps the best class in arena to be even better. The worts is that is a common card. Would appear in every arena and may destroy the meta.

  17. wtf
    April 13, 2016 at 11:47 am

if you get injured blademaster it’s 9/12 for 6 mana, if you wery unlucky you could get alarm bot – 5/8

  18. ZekeHyle
    April 13, 2016 at 11:43 am

    Alarm-o-bot or Injured Blademaster?
On average I’d say you get a 3/3 minion, which makes this card quite good.
I don’t see any particular Mage synergy though.

    • Safari
      April 13, 2016 at 12:05 pm

I agree with you. It seems to be one of the best cards, but no synergy with mage spells. Despite of that, it’s always great to populate the field, it’s like an instant summoning portal.

      • Poison
        April 13, 2016 at 12:49 pm

true , no synergie but you also played piloted shredder just as a minion in mage too

    • iron
      April 13, 2016 at 12:39 pm

Well there is a 3% chance to get a minion with spell damage… Synergy seems legit

  19. Rofuzer
    April 13, 2016 at 11:38 am

General: This card has lower stats than average for 6 mana, but the battlecry justifies it completely. A 3-cost minion has on average 3/3 stats which makes this card a 6 mana 8/8 which is insane. Add the possibility that the minion has some passive effect like “Imp Gang Boss” or “Shade of Naxxramas”, or it could have off the chart stats like “Felguard” or “King Mukla”; well this summoner can bring extreme value.

Constructed: It might fit inside a tempo mage deck. In the end the 6 mana slot is mainly covered by “Ethereal Conjurer” and some more late game minions can serve the mage well, especially when the meta seems to be shifting to the late game. The only awkward thing is this card has no synergy with any of your spells when compared to “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” or “Flamewaker”. However some of the spells are being rotated out of standard, such as “Flamecannon”, so it may be a worthy substitute. Freeze mage doesn’t see much use of this card, and the same probably goes for monkey mage. Secret mage can actually use “Effigy” and “Echo of Medivh” as a pretty decent play, but nothing too outstanding.

Arena: It is definitely one of the best cards you can get in arena. The overall stats are going to outvalue many 6-drops, and the fact that its divided can even be more convenient in the case where the opponent has played more early game minions than you did. Also note its COMMON rarity, meaning the chance of getting to pick card this will be pretty high! Coming to think of it the mage did need easier access to some purely good stats minions, instead of having too many spells or minions that require, again, spells to gain value.

    Rating: 😀

Whops, you’re right! Which leaves us with an even better fit for this card inside tempo mage decks. Sorry, the 6 attack always makes me think it costs 6 mana.

  20. Bling
    April 13, 2016 at 11:29 am

I see incoming nerfs to this card. Until then we have decent stats on a six drop, similar to cards like Emp Tharsan and Sylv, with an instant addition to your side of the board. I can hardly believe this isn’t a rare and least, however this is super cool, and control mage is going to be great with this.

5 mana vanilla with a 1 mana to summon a 3 mana minion? Sounds good to me. Many 3 drops are pretty good so I wonder where this will be placed in a mage deck.

  23. Genieblood
    April 13, 2016 at 11:24 am

If a typical three-drop has average stats of 3/3, then this has 8/8 worth of stats split between two minions. This is amazing for arena, and probably good for constructed as well.
