the card is good in the sense you destroy a minion and gain a minion your oppent will most likely trade to avoid getting out tempo

Decent card, not great by any means but it does fill the gap for 4ap removal in priest albeit a turn later, could be a decent tech card for priest for minions such as primordial drake….I wouldn’t be looking to use this on minions like tirion or much less anything you could use hard removal on.

God I hope this card ends up being awful. I hate playing against removal that doesnt kill minions.

This card is being way under valued, it basically makes priest great against its biggest weakness now which is ysera & other high value 4 attack minions it can’t deal with. I actually think this is better than entomb because it can be played on curve to offer real value rather than as a last resort. Will be a great pick up off lyra as well!

I was thinking that this card was decent.

Blizz just threw Sylvanas into Wild, then gave Priest this card with a similar effect. You could play around Sylvanas, or Silence her, just like this card. I could see running at least one of these.

so you guys think priest is always a turn away from death when playing this?? this is a 6 mana steal tyrion which clearly sees a ton of play. I swear you idiots can’t evaluate cards, what has priest lacked? an answer for 4 attack minions? yes. what is this? an answer for 4 attack minions! you’re all the same imbeciles that rated devolve poorly and look at it now. can priest please get a new mechanic or have it’s other mechanics developed like idk shadow priest? shadow form is in the classic set so that would have been perfect, but no let’s keep stealing and copying the opponent’s shit. I’m so sick of this garbage!

It also delays your own development for a turn or they can just trade the minion giving your enemy a free turn to take the board. Not saying it’s terrible but the corrupting mist downside is pretty large.

No-one is an imbecile for trying to rate a card and getting it wrong. Meta changes, as long as there is at least a rock paper scissors effect ie. A>B>C>A. There are far too many factors to make an accurate estimate of how good a card will be, and its value might change mid-season when deck popularity changes.

However, given the influx of deathrattles it is reasonable to expect silence effects will be in the meta-game, not to mention the minion can be traded off or self-killed sometimes, and that this card is incredibly weak to aggro.

Given this, I expect this card to be weak and have estimated a value of 2, as it would be good in control match-ups if silence effects are not prevalent anyway.

I will return to this post mid-August.

nice math dude are you card game engineer? perhaps you are all missing the point which is why I used terminology like imbecile. my point is that on it’s face this card used a tired annoying mechanic i.e. entomb and mind control that is a plague on the game whether or not the meta allows this card to thrive. they could have printed more heal or shadow priest cards in the likeness of auchenai or prophet velen. why support the most annoying of mechanics like take control of and gain a copy of? there’s so much more priest can do, even dragon priest support except that oh wait drakonoid lets you not just get a copy but choose what card you want from your opponent’s deck along with an outrageous star line. the fact that drakonoid’s effect exists is the reason dragon priest didn’t get support outside of primordial drake from ungoro. am I really the only one who hates these copy/control shenanigans especially from a class that could be so much more interesting?

I’m trying to follow the thread of your rage here.

          1. This card steals Tyrion so it’s great.

          2. This card can target 4-attack minions, so it’s great.

          3. Everyone who says it’s bad is stupid.

          4. You find this mechanic (stealing peoples’ things) annoying.

          5. Only 4 of 10 priest cards revealed and you’ve concluded they won’t have any support for other mechanics. (Oops, except for resurrection and AoE/Lifesteal.)

          6. Stealing things is something they’ve done a lot so you’d prefer they do something new like healing, auchenai, and velen. (Except priest already has a lot of those things?)

          7. You’ve gazed into the mind of Ben Brode and determined that Drakonid OP is keeping Priest from getting more dragon support. (Yeah, Brode is definitely afraid of buffing a Tier 3 deck.)

If these are the kinds of things that make you angry, you will spend your entire life angry.

Foodbeard what is the highest rank you’ve ever gotten? Or on average what rank do you reach each season?

If you’re looking for reasons to discredit me, that means you have no response to my arguments. Your rant doesn’t make any sense, you’re just yelling about a card game for no reason. If Hearthstone makes you this angry, maybe you should take a break.

your 6 mana minion also can target 4 attack minion and also is much better to have something at turn 6 on board than this crap in your hand.

Lmao u r truly awful at this game. You’re calling other ppl imbeciles, when you’re the real one. If u can’t c y this card is awful, ur beyond help. What you aren’t factoring in, is the fact that they’re just going to trade the minion off of just hit u in the face. They could also just silence their own minion. Try thinking before u talk trash. Rly wonder what rank u r. I finished season rank 6, so pretty decent. Oh yeah btw, rank 6 legend

How about u answer ur average rank a season? Mine is on average rank 15. Yours? And before u say “wow rank 15 u suck” I mean rank 15 legend

Rather Tirion, who can’t easily be traded off. Other than that…

Can be good is prist gets freze efects.
1 mana glaciar shard + 6 mana embrace darkness. Sounds good in my mind but not very consistent in practice

    mind control is better

  10. Brann
    July 31, 2017 at 7:24 am

    6 Mana delayed mind control

This could be ok in the right situation

But it’s a little slow and greedy, and your opening yourself up to some massive counter plays running this

It’s ok if you can afford to waste your turn 6 or 6 manna in the late game (which you prob can’t )

    Priest is going downhill.

    July 31, 2017 at 6:45 am

Delayed Mind control/better entombed(doesn’t have to be drawn then played)

Priest would just skip a turn entombing/mind controlling your minion anyway and now they can do it earlier ? >_<

Completely unplayable. This is basically Entomb, only your opponent has a good opportunity to choose how to suicide the minion to hurt you the most. Some greedy control decks are gonna give it a whirl, and the first time it gets jammed into their face and then Shadowflamed, they’re gonna realize what a terrible card this is in certain match-ups, to say nothing of how aggro will laugh itself silly when someone plays this against them.

Playing as Priest, you might find yourself with no minions on boards, or with weak ones. Playing this means the opponent must choose whether to waste resources to kill one of his minions, or simply give it to you. Even though it’s not really powerful, it can definitely see some play.

Easy to say it’s bad against Warlock, plenty of ways to kill your own minions for a gain, but what about everyone else? Good against Dragon priest, and especially against someone who plays a lot of taunts. Honestly if you’re playing this during a match against a warlock before they’ve played a lot of their other cards, then you’re making a mistake or you’re about to die.
I could see this played at 8 or 9 mana after the enemy makes a big drop. Throw out a weak 2 or 3 mana taunt so it makes it hard to suicide on your board or hit face. I know it’s not a perfect card, but it doesn’t blow as hard as you think.
