Kill some treants, kill some lackeys, kill anything really. Currently contesting with hagatha’s scheme but this will probably still be run anyway for being so good in control. 5/5

Why shaman? why? well they already have so many GOOD cards, it doesn’t matter what they get at this point, the deck can only fit as much.

This will be amazing against Druids after they buff their minions with soul of the forest. If I’m reading it right, it wipes the board, the treats activate, and then the spell wipes them too. Excellent.

The name of the card plus the effect feel like: “As if the damage weren’t enough”.
Earthquake is already bad enough(5 damage), which follow by other disaster like building collapse, etc (extra 2 damage).

Im pretty sure it’s supposed to be aftershocks of the main earthquake but I get what u mean, it has a clever flavor

I think it’s comparable to many of the other board clears (i.e volcano…(go figure), flamestrike, twisting nether). High mana, powerful clear. 4/5

I’m predicting another 4.8/5 rated card pre-expansion that turns into an unplayed card next meta? Read it here later

And I’m predicting that this will probably be closer to 3-4/5 atm the trick of this card is need to survive to that 7 Mana cusp to use this and it’s mainly tailored against 2 classes Hunter and druid. The fact that it does 7 dmg puts this ALMOST as if it was a twisting nether seeing as how MOST cards played can’t survive that without buffing. Problem is druid can still refill board turn after with the 8 Mana 5 treants but this DOES counter one druid play of making treants 5/5 ancients and using soul.

Dont forget Soul of the Murlocs. Most Token decks can close out a game even before 7 mana. This card is way to slow.

Basically the point of this spell is to take clear out the field. You would need more than just this but if you could hold then off till get to 7 Mana you could possibly cut them off. Shaman has a few options of clearing that it can do before 7 Mana the only trick is the overloads.

The fun thing about balancing shaman is with spells instead of making cheaper you’d just give it overload cost stays relatively the same but is still playable sooner.

Most likely this would never drop below 5 Mana and it would have either 2-3 overload because of that.

Holy cow. What a card… not sure running this over Scheme. Compared to the 9 mana spell from priest right now its very similiar. Anti Token i see the most in this. overall 7 damage to minions for 7 mana is okay, for 5 damage you can kill most sticky/buffed tokens and clear some deathrattles after. Token Druid and Murloc Shamy the only decks right now, where you can use this at its best. Dont think this will see much play over Scheme unless there are more board oriented deathrattle buffs. 2/5

Don’t forget: this also works well against all the Reborn minions we’re going to see

true, but i dont think we will see a whole board of them. if you only hit 2 minions or smth its not worth it.

Holy… Blizzard is pushing the Control Shaman archetype HARD. Hagatha’s scheme is amazing, this is amazing, and both cards are from 2019 sets, which means they’ll both be around until April 2021. As a primary Mage player, I have so much AoE envy right now. 5/5

Another Shaman board clear. Question is, will I run it over Hagatha’s Scheme? 5/5

Really powerful. It clears minions up to 7 hp and even deals with deathrattles from token/mech. It will be played in control shamans which I estimate as a tier 2 deck.
    4/5

(Upgraded Flame Strike) Shaman turning to be mage, I can see “Quest control shaman” one of the best control deck so far already with the shaderwock. It’s a bit problem here ,,????

Not really upgraded flamestrike since it destroys your own minions as well

As if control decks ever mind the fact AoE hits their side of the board. Hellfire, Nether, Psychics Scream, Brawl, Hysteria, Equality/Pyro, Shrink Ray, Lightbomb, Warpath, Volcano. All those cards saw or see play on control decks of those classes, and they hit your own board, it just doesn’t matter to control decks.

there is absolutely no reason why this card shouldn’t deserve 5 Stars.

I mean it’s a card. It does the clear. Gj shamen class identity.

It’s a card that can counter token druid so it is rather nice. This will definitely see play in a couple shaman decks.

Not going to lie, I love control Shaman and it’s already not that far from being a great deck, this obviously helps.

Also any tool that stomps on Mech hunter is fine with me.

It is not even the Plague card for shaman, and it is that impressive. Can’t wait to see the plague card printed for shaman.

Pretty sure this is shaman’s plague card. It does exactly what plague cards are supposed to do. A plague card doesn’t need to have ‘plague’ in it’s name, but an earthquake with a massive impact on both players minions is obviously a plague card.

        July 10, 2019 at 6:59 pm

No im pretty sure this isn’t the plague card sure the effect can hurt you and the opponent but that’s not a new mechanic for shaman cards there’s been several that nuke everything. I’m pretty sure all the plague spells will have Plague at the start of the name.

          July 11, 2019 at 10:25 am

I mean it does exactly what a plague card is described to do. Also it’s an earthquake, so when quicksand is a plague I suppose this is one too. You might be right though, we’ll see:)

            July 11, 2019 at 12:53 pm

The key I figure is if you look at the image why is it called plague of death. When all it is is quicksand by that logic this image looks like an earthquake and it’s named earthquake so it can’t be the plague card. There could have been several better names for the current plague based on the image so it stands to reason that the image doesn’t really matter as much as the name.

Needless to say, Control Shaman loves this, and Big Shaman can use it as a boardwipe. A much better card to topdeck (or generate via Hagatha) than Hagatha’s scheme.

7 damage is basically a boardwipe – only giants and big magnetized minions can survive it (rolling a Windfury totem means giants go down, too). With the aftershock, you get to clear sticky token-y minions summoned by deathrattles, which are all over the place – microbots from SN1P-SN4P and Replicating Menace, Soul of the Murloc, Soul of the Forest, Reborn cards…

It’s still a seven mana card. It’s a good card but hardly extreme for what it does.

      • Lluadian
        July 10, 2019 at 11:45 am

The comparison card is flamestrike for mage 7 Mana 4 dmg to all enemies this is 7 Mana 5 dmg to all minions but unlike flamestrike it can clear out tokens from death rattles and such as well which is what’s usually done to counter a flamestrike.

        • Soup And Salad
          July 10, 2019 at 12:01 pm

Flamestrike hasn’t been good in Constructed for quite a while outside of specifically Odd Control Mage. Blizzard has been better than it for most of the game’s lifespan. It’s not really a hard bar to clear.

Plus Earthquake is symetrical. Comparing it to say Dragonfire Potion is a bit more apt. In that light, Earthquack costs one more and drops an exception for two more damage.

          • Lluadian
            July 10, 2019 at 2:56 pm

True I was just using a cost base I would say a more accurate comparison though is hellfire potion you spend 1 more Mana to change from dmging heroes to dealing a delayed 2 damage. Of course a better example from mage would probably be if combined Dragon Fury with Volcanic Potion 8 cost in total but if count Fury as only pulling 5 Mana spells.
