This is just a really nice, flexiable card. The Fact that it’s even going to be in Magic Tricks is what makes Combustion even better. Some or if not a lot of the Mages use Frostbolt for Stopping a Minion while dealing some Damage, only to usually using ping on the next turn.

The only question is, what mage really wants to use this card? But overall, it’s really nice. 4 stars.

You will keep this in your opening hand against demon hunter and any other aggressive deck. By turn 3 your opponent hasn’t built a board with a ton of health yet and this ruins that early board presence.

I find it difficult to determine whether this card is okay good or really good. If there is no support and it’s played as is, I think it can be quite a decent card against decks that try to flood the board in some way or another. In other situations, it might be less than ideal, if not a bit mediocre but still okay. If another card is released that is any sort of synergy with this one it might become a very good spell.

This card is pretty hard to rate, nowadays minions have alot of health Hearthstone so this might end up being barely better than Shadow bolt. But against aggro it’s a really nice tool and I love my mage getting cards like this. I’ll give it 3 stars since it’s horrible on some circumstances and great on some.

Oh right Mo’arg artificer exists… That might actually make this card incredibly good in some control mage deck.

It’s basically a card for killing off minions in an aggro deck which is one of the dangers to some mage decks.

I can dig it, this would answer the 2-health Demon Hunter boards that totally mow me down as mage otherwise :p

Worst case it’s a Shadowbolt, best case it flexibly deals 7 damage to enemy minions for just 3 mana. Not the best but not the worst. Meta dependent whether you’d actually put this in your deck, but an ok tool for Mage to have, especially next year when Flame Ward rotates.

A nice twist on Shadow Bolt, but while efficient, you’re probably not going to deal much damage to the neighboring minions very often. Granted, sometimes just damaging them is all that you’d really need like against Murloc Paladin or something.

Combustion will definitely be an inclusion in the already uber expensive Highlander Mage, but I’m not convinced it’ll do much else. That is unless the removal is really needed.
