depends on which format you are playing. In standard this is pretty mediocre in wild format 5 stars and has an easy place in mana cyclone mage

Priest didn’t have such a good record with dragon soul, but that’s because I think that’s not what priest was good at doing then, this is different, Mage is great a playing a lot of cheap spells and since mana cyclone is a thing this could be great. Flamewaker is rotating out but this could be a good substitute. Also really cheap in cost. 7/10

Dragon soul was bad admittedly. I see potential here, simply because of a few reasons. 1. It has a body on board, 2. Think of how many spells in mage get discounted 3. In relation to my first point of the body on board the elemental synergy.

Granted in wild would be even crazier with frost lich jaina and all. But I’m gonna wait to see how it plays out.

Dragon Soul was bad. This doesn’t look much better. I’m not sure you’d even want it in Cyclone Mage.

I got nothing but flack by the Facebook windowlickers. All them saying how Cyclone and Apprentise will help this card. Or how Khad g AR will help bring out 2 instead of 1 elemental. That maybe true, but. . . .

    I got some bad news.

    Let’s talk removals

Hunter: Unleash the Beast – summon a 5/5 Wyvern

Warrior: Restless Mummy. Not just once but four times. One each for Chenvaala and the Elemental..

Then we got Silence. Yea. Ironbeak Owl, just for starters!

Sorry but this card is a wasted Legendary with a priest ability from Dragon Soul. If one wants call it for it is: A One Turn Trick Pony.

Except making them use resources to counter this is also kind of the point considering that 8/8 dragon that will give you 2 0 cost dragons the more removals they waste early on the less they have for later.

The dragon soul comparisons are totally legitimate.

What also worries me is board space. To take full advantage of this, you’ll also want an apprentice (maybe 2). Then maybe later you’ll want a mana cyclone. Also, mirror image can really get in the way

Priest had Dragon Soul as a 3 mana weapon with the same effect and that card saw no play whatsoever.

I’m pretty sure this card will go through similar fate… Yes, mage can cast tons of spells as of now but ehhh I just don’t see it.

    2/5. Has potential but unlikely.

The problem priest also had was that it couldn’t always trigger the weapon that easy till late game. With this for mage you could summon at least one 5/5 and this card together as early as turn 3 with the right cards in hand. Play this coin into a 1 cost play the 0 cost reduce cost of elemental and drop the 2/2. Granted that’s the BEST case scenario making opponent have to deal with 9/12 in stats on their turn 4. And you’d be refunded 3 random spells.

Imagine destroying the 5/5s with the rouge legendary for 6 mana… I think this card still deserves a 4 star rating.

Would only kill the 5/5s that were on the board does nothing if summon more after. And this card can be triggered before turn 5.

Imagine having a copy of dragonsoul in a expansion about dragons and then changing it to elementals.

Imagine having Dragon Soul but as a Minion. 4 Stars though, because unlike Priest, it is proven that for Mage, Especially for Cyclone Mage, She would like to use a card like this.

Seems iffy, but I like SpellSpam Mage so I hope this is playable. Waiting until ~T6/T7 so that you can properly combo this with Apprentice/Cheap Spells/Mana Cyclone seems a bit off for the deck’s playstyle, though. Maybe with the Quest/Sidequest it turns into more of a slow, swing-turn based deck.

Let’s not overlook that body, though – a lot of the times with Tempo Mage you tossed out Stargazer Luna T3 just to make your opponent panic and/or cash in if they can’t clear. This has the same cost and +1 health which is quite nice.

    Wow so OP :
    1. It is an elemental and elemental evocation.
    2. It is for mage and not for priest!!!

So a nice mid game – to late game card for mage can go well with quest mage. Considering mage has several cheap spells like Ray of frost on a turn 5 you could play this 2 Ray’s the elemental cost reducer then the 2/2 and add 3 spells back to hand so get a 2/5 2/2 and a 5/5 plus freeze to enemies and 3 random spells.

This will definitely see some play supports tempo style mage.
