Silence Priest and Spell Damage Mage will run this, and it looks pretty good. 4/5 stars

I like the value of this card. I wish Humongous Razorleaf wasn’t rotating out. Cause this card and Dalaran Librarian would really rock in a Silence Lady in White Deck. 4/5 in my book.

Okay, I guess Silence Priest is back now, just more midrangey. Curves super nicely into the new 4 mana priest card.

Could see play in both silence priest and aggro mage. 4/5

Insane tempo potential in Cheap Spell mage archetype, since cheap spells also synergize with Spell Damage. I’m just not sure the archetype itself will be viable. 3/5

I actually love this card. If you feel cheeky, you can play this, and then throw Ancient Mage down after to enable it to attack by giving it Spell Power. Even as a 4 mana play, a 5/6 is better than the standard Yeti statline of 4/5, and some may treat it like Ancient Watcher and not attack it.

Or, Celestral, and Frostbolt a threat down and have a 5/6 to attack whatever you want, and have another Spell Power minion ready to go later.

You really cannot undervalue a 3 mana 5/6. Even if Spell Power turns out to be awful, that statline is so good that this card will certainly see a lot of experimentation, not just in Mage, but in other decks that can generate Spell Power.

This could actually be a solid tempo card.

Turn 3: This. Turn 4: Ancient Mage nerds.

Yup this has value if only could have the card to put spell dmg on this then can attack with just him on field.

Maybe Aggro Mage will be a thing divided in two archetype: Machine Gun Mage or Spell Damage Mage. Really good card just depends on the Spell Damage meta 4/5

Insane card if aggro/spell mage is viable.
