I’m just gonna wait for a few more expansions before I even consider touching Spell Mage. 2 Stars.

If mage could get an identity outside of Las Vegas Simulator, I’d be really happy.

We have to remember that some cards will have its own spotlight in another year if it doesn’t work well with other cards in this year- then, this surely will be seen playing in the year after Year of Phoenix.

Not a fan of this card at all. Game seems to have jumped the shark IMO. I guess 9 classes were so easy for them to balance harmoniously that they felt they could add a 10th… doesn’t bode well for me. I think I will be a F2P Wild only player from now on…

Yeah they are making some QOL changes but IMO too little too late.

It’s best not to judge a card like this before seeing what other support it gets, they’re clearly trying a new archetype on mage and if that deck work, this card might even be one of the better cards around.

Yeah but we have all seen how they do this stuff before though. It will A) not be viable B) be left incomplete and abandoned C) be too powerful and nerfed immediately D) all of the above or some mixture thereof.

Also hearthstone is all about having minions… the no minions stipulation is crippling unless they add some seriously good cards for this archetype and this set each class gets a prime MINION which can’t be used in this archetype? What?

Lol maybe the next 2 sets this year they will flesh out this archetype then?

Mage needs something that works now. Not something that might work in the future when or if they decide to print more cards that support it. They want to gut some classes and let others be OP and then they gut them and let the previously gutted classes be OP for awhile rinse repeat.

Yeah so obviously they can only really balance 3 or so classes at a time to be viable… aaaaaaaand lets add another class into the clusterfunk while they are at it hey why not.

This card is 5 stars in a vacuum. If the deck works, this card is a standout in that deck.

Firelands Portal saw play, and it was 7 mana.

Apexis Blast does come with a pretty strict requirement, but Hunter made it work a few years ago.

We’ll see if Mage gets more support for this kind of deck

It seems they try to support All-Spells Deck Mage. No wonder they created Evocation.
Cyclone Mage is not needed anymore I guess.
