Arena Balance Update – September 3, 2019 – Nerfs to Hunter and Rogue

A new Arena balance update was just issued (it’s a hotfix, so no need to update your client). It’s a part of their “micro-adjustments” done to keep the class win rates at roughly the same level. The idea is to lower the appearance rate of strongest cards from highest win rate classes, and to do the opposite for the lowest win rate classes. Here’s how the win rates should be affected by the latest round of adjustments:

  • Nerfed: Hunter, Rogue
  • Untouched: Mage, Warlock
  • Buffed: Druid, Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Warrior

We’ve just released an update to all regions in order to adjust the appearance rate of cards to ensure a fair balance between classes in Arenas.

Specifically, the win-rate of Hunter and Rogue should now be decreased. The win-rate of Druid, Paladin, Priest, Shaman and Warrior should now be increased. Card appearance rates for Mage and Warlock remain untouched.

The current card buckets can be viewed on the Arena Rules thread here.

Thanks!
