Signature Cards were first introduced back in 2022, and they went through a few iterations since then. They are a special type of cosmetic card that showcases full, alternate card artwork. While very rare, they were overall positive for the economy, because they don’t take any Legendary slots from your packs. If you get a Signature card, it replaces a random Common you would get instead in a card pack, so it’s a clear win for the players. Even though they are hard to get, they increase the pack value ever so slightly.
And how rare they are, exactly? Let’s start with the fact that you can only open the Legendary Signature cards (non-Legendaries are available through the events, rewards track, achievements, shop bundles etc. so their rarity varies heavily). And Signature Legendaries are as rare as Golden Legendary cards, so you’ll see one in 1 in 181 packs on average, with 1 in 361 packs pity timer (yes, that’s a lot of packs).
In other words, you can expect about 1 (or even less than 1) per expansion depending on how many packs you open throughout the whole set. The odds are much higher in Golden Packs – you can expect 1 per 20 packs on average, with a guaranteed one every 40 packs. But given how expensive Golden Packs are, they are more of a whale magnet. At least many of the Signature Cards of lower rarities are easily accessible to an average player (as long as you’re playing during the expansion they are from).
A new expansion, Across the Timeways, is launching soon, and it comes with another batch of Signatures. This time Signatures weren’t showcased during the reveal season, but rather we’ve got all of them in a single batch. The number of Signatures is off the charts because many of the Fabled packages have Sig versions, and all 3 cards. Sadly there’s no Timethief Rafaam Signature, but I guess that it being 10 cards in one might be too much, haha. (Update: From what I’ve heard, more Signatures (like Priest Sigs and Sig Rafaam) will be added at a later date. But only the ones in this post will be available at launch.)
Anyway, here are all of the Sigs from the latest expansion:
- Neutral
- Death Knight
- Demon Hunter
- Druid
