Molten Giant Additional Information

  1. Molten Giant was changed from 20 Mana to 25 Mana when the Standard Format was released on April 26th, 2016. [Source]
  2. “Molten Giant is an interesting card, but it’s too easy for players to reduce its mana cost to 0. We’re increasing Molten Giant’s mana cost to 25 to increase the risks players must take to get a free Giant. The changes to Force of Nature and Arcane Golem will make dropping to low health somewhat less risky as well, which helped spur this change.” [Source]

Handlock would be extremely viable in standard, so they nerfed moltens

Although I’m probably the only person to grieve about this long lost deck but blizzard just put the nail in the coffin for echo mage !

I’m also pretty unhappy with this. I don’t really see why they needed to nerf molten. It was only run in Echo mage, which isn’t meta even though I love it, and Handlock, which hasn’t been crushing the meta recently.

They clearly said what is the reason. If you want to know why they needed to nerf molten you only have to read the quote on this page under the card itself ! It hasn’t been crushing the meta recently but It obviously would have done that in standard.
