Earthen Might Card Review

This is a Shaman’s version of Mark of Y'Shaarj – +2/+2 and an extra card if the condition is met. However, unlike Mark of Y’Shaarj, this will fit into a slower deck more than into an Aggro build. Unlike drawing a card from your deck (which is fast), random Elemental can be bigger / slower. However, this will be a great fit into pretty much any Elemental Shaman build – Midrange or Control alike.

Earthen Might looks solid throughout the entire game. On Turn 2, you can easily play it on your Fire Fly to get a 3/4 minion to trade with AND you save your other half to activate Elemental synergies AND you get a random Elemental too. Then, later in the game, you can just play something bigger, possibly even a Taunt (e.g. Tar Creeper) and immediately gain small advantage on the board and an extra card in your hand.

This is basically an auto-include in any Elemental Shaman build. There is simply no reason not to run it.

Card rating: 9/10

This is a really good card for Elemental Shaman. Mark of Y’Shaary proved a conditional draw effect will be enough to get a +2/+2 buff to see play. While Elemental Shaman is a midrange deck and the Mark saw play primarily in Aggro Druid, I think if a Beast Druid was reasonably competitive, it would’ve seen play there too.

Elemental Hagatha Shaman will probably work a bit better than Un’Goro Elemental Shaman did, and I hope it does.

Awesome with the elemental synergy, might be brutal with turn 1 Firefly.
Still honest as a random spell from Hagatha.

    Looking good.

Elemental Shaman’s Draw a Card and gain +2/+2 for 2 Mana is always Lovey.

Just hoping that Elemental Shaman is now a thing again, or at least get’s the Pros’ Attention for a week or even a few days.

Slow tempo, but it’s good to generate Elemental Chain synergy. It’s also not too bad on Turn 2 on a Fire Fly (think Warlock Zoo and playing Demonfire on a Voidwalker – if it’s solid there, why not in Shaman?). Also another cheap spell that I don’t mind getting from RNG. Not OP, but it’s reasonable. 3/5 stars.

Elemental Shaman till clinging on in the meta, but even without an elemental deck, this card is great, it improves the card pool for Hagatha and can be played on something such as Nightmare Amalgam. Love it, these are the spells shaman need.

There is no way this will make elemental shaman viable right now. Why doesn’t blizz just push 1 shaman archetype instead of 3 per expansion?

Because making only one play style for a class is not fun? Because if Blizzard puts all their eggs in one basket and fail to create a viable deck type a class can be screwed for an entire expansion?

Sure, sometimes we get Freeze Shaman, but sometimes we get something great. Elemental Shaman will definitely be viable, and this card will likely be part of it.

Why did it take shaman so long to get this card.
