This type of ad is something we’ve had to implement because advertising dollars are funneling more and more towards video content. As our site is text based, this is the only real option we have. We’ve tried to make it as unobstructive as possible but our apologies for the negative experience you’re having as a result. Yeah Gleam’s mechanism to determine throwaway or not can usually be bypassed with a profile pic and/or bio.

We also post notices in Discord, so make sure you’re logged into that!

Try loading it up in an incognito window and trying again, or a different browser. Unfortunately we don’t control how Gleam works but most users find success after trying these options. Thank you.

As far as ads, our site doesn’t contain any more ads than typical free sites on the internet, we’re in line with industry standards.

Giveaways are always optional and in this case each entry method is also optional. Most don’t actually promote anything, joining our Discord for example or visiting our Facebook page.

To clarify a bit more, the winners’ will be notified via email, not everyone upon the winners’ being posted. You can check the giveaway page itself about an hour after it ends to see the list. Thank you.
