Hearthstone Onyxia’s Lair Card Reveals – Reveal Schedule, Full List of Cards From The Alterac Valley Mini-Set

Update: All of the cards from Onyxia’s Lair have been revealed. Have fun with the mini-set on Tuesday!

The latest Hearthstone mini-set was just announced. It’s called Onyxia’s Lair, and it’s named after the Classic WoW raid (later it was revamped for a higher level). It should tie nicely into this year’s Hearthstone storyline, as Lady Katrina Prestor (Onyxia’s human form) already made an appearance in the previous expansion, as well as the PvE adventures. You can read more about the Onyxia Lair’s lore here.

Onyxia’s Lair will release with Patch 22.4, on Tuesday (February 15). Once the mini-set is out, we’ll be on the lookout for any new decks to post!

Here’s a full list of currently revealed cards from the Onyxia’s Lair mini-set. Click on any of them to go to that card’s page and see more details + community discussion.

All those miniset cards promoting Control and Late Game decks really gonna promote more and more Quest Warlock to be an oppresive deck.
But on the other hand, rotation coming soon, maybe Quest won’t have any access to cheap heal anymore.

Time to dust off the Celestial Ink Set and Balinda Stonehearth for another run at Big Spell Mage. Easy 3000 legend where I currently rank, down to 10000.

Looking at the cards and current meta decks, clear winner is Hunter (Face and Quest) almost no new archetypes, maybe a Dragon Priest, Dragon Control Warrior with late game value, but the mini-set itself feels poor for “de-xperiment”. Let’s see if there’s any real impact to the meta.. Aggro will farm A LOT first days after lauch.

So in reference to Hatch, the new mage legendary, i think a better way to phrase the card text would have been , “after you cast a spell deal 1 damage to a random enemy for each mana spent on that spell.” That was this card can support any mage archytype, and druids will actually care about getting it off cenarion ward. Think like you stick this down and next turn play a drakefire amulet, youve got a mask kf cthun type effect in conjunction with the two new dragons- THAT is what a legendary should do in 2022

Demon Hunter cards pretty underwhelming, especially that (4) 5/4 one, it SUCKS. You’re never gonna get to use this on curve, it will sit awkwardly in your hand, it’s like a much, much worse Kingpin Edwin. The token support is also bad, the 2/2 guy is plain better in everyway. And that control spell is nothing special – DH already has a Fel spell just for that that is probably more consistent. Not to mention, no Fel support? No Big Demon support? And the one Token support we get is terrible and uninspired? Sucks, really sucks.

Still no quest disruption tech whatsoever.
But overall, more dragon synergies means more dragons soon.

Lastly, gotta say that 5 mana cost Mage spell looks terrible and way too restrictive.
2 or 3 mana is probably the correct costs.

Only if you played first, and that’s 50/50 disruptions.

I’m talking about pure disruption, like a minion effect, “Enemy quest is disabled”
Or, spells like Quest can’t progress until next turn. But there’s no neutral spells, so minion is more likely.
