It’s been another long and winding year in Hearthstone. 2025 had a lot of ups and downs. On the one hand, we had some of the strongest expansion themes in a while, a remake of Arena format, tons of new events, introducion of pets, more cinematic expansion trailers, and esports finally returning to form (with a promise of an even better 2026).
On the other hand, the year was soured by many of the same things I listed as positives. Expansions had amazing themes, but were very underpowered, often requiring weeks of patches before becoming playable. Arena’s remake has some really cool, new features, but the rewards leave a lot to be desired and the mode doesn’t receive nearly enough support. Pets are cool new addition to the game, but the way they are sold is atrocious (with random gambling mechanics) and we haven’t gotten a single affordable one yet.
As you can see, it was a year full of contradictions. However, it was also a great setup for 2026. If you want to read more about the passing year, Old Guardian covered many of the important things that happened in another article.
When it comes to Hearthstone Top Decks, we were also quite busy. In 2025, we wrote 295 news posts/articles, added 1949 new decks across all game modes to our database, and made almost 15,000 posts across all of the social media platforms (we started posting on Bluesky late last year, but now we cross-post everything there)! We also had 35 million website visit, so thank you all for being with us!
Thank you all for staying with us. Happy New Year, everyone!
