Deck Import

Rogue could be on the comeback trail with the potential Paladin dominance of the ladder. This deck is similar Oil Rogue, but it has unique cards like Buccaneer, Defias Ringleader, Novice Engineer, and Undercity Valiant. TINGoT0NG talks more about the deck here.

Any mulligan tips/opinions? Rogue is imo the hardest class to mulligan.

This deck is preetty good, it works well on his own (very fast to beatdown your opponents and close games) and it’s very good in this meta (Paladins). Already made from rank 6 to 3 in 20 games (15-5 75% winrate so far). Very fun and solid deck! 🙂

why not loot hoarder instead of gnomish inventor since its a 2/1 body for the same cost?

You probably mean Novice Engineer instead of Gnomish Inventor(which is a 4 mana 2/4)

Anyway, the card draw from Engineer is instant(over deathrattle), meaning if you use it on turn 4-5 upwards, you can play whatever you draw the same turn. It isn’t a card you play on turn 2.

Because it is a battlecry draw a card instead of a deathrattle draw a card. Having the card draw as a battlecry is a way to trigger a possible combo on the card you’ll draw. The body is not essential it’s just a fill to the deck to get the cards you want whilst getting the combo effect.

Btw one of my favourite decks alongside tempo mage. Keeps on being challenging and you really have to use your brain. Unlike control warrior where you just mechanically mulligan for armorsmith and 3/2 weapon then spam armor, acolyte of pain, simple boardclear and taunts until you win. People might call this a bad deck because they are used to getting the win without using their brain.

Just a little tip for all the people who hop on these comments to post about how ‘terrible’ the deck is – a player makes the plays, not their deck. Skill comes from experience, learning what to predict, exploring all the nuances of the game that seem insignificant to newer players but actually carry a lot of weight.

Anyone crying about how they could only go 1-5 with the deck, you’re almost certainly making suboptimal plays. This deck held a spot in top 10 legend and has proved it’s worth. Learn how to play it, prove your worth, and then maybe you’re critique will means something.

On topic, a great deck. Plays like a faster version of Oil Rogue, and often feels more consistent because of the low-curving combo activators. The only card I’m not sure about it Undercity Valiant, although I’m aware the creator is simply testing it out. I wonder if a second Eviscerate might not be a stronger choice for the extra reach / Taunt removal. Just thought though.

    Thanks for posting! 🙂

Not sure what I’m doing wrong with this deck, it seems like it should work well. Early control/tempo and then combo’s for finishing in the late game but god dang I’m getting destroyed. I’m not the best Hearthstone player ever but I’ve been playing for a few months and I’ve played a small amount of Oil Rogue. This deck is fun but I went from rank 13 to rank 16 almost 17 only using it, maybe my mulligans are bad, but I have no idea how he made it to Legend 8.

I’d go second Eviscerate, but you can try Kobold Geomancer.

I tried this deck today around rank 8, and it actually did pretty well. I went 3/1 with it.

Getting Rank 8 Legend with this deck doesn’t make it a good enough list?

Just try it before you speak. I tried it at rank 5 and it went really well for me, 8-2.
