card doesn’t seem that good, tbh. discard has always been quite bad, since you need both a way to discard and something that can benefit from the discard, and if you have more than 1 cards in hand, also good rng to ensure that the right card gets discarded, to fully benefit from the effect. This isn’t a 2 drop that you’d want to play on turn 2, and top decking it mid to late game’s also quite bad. Not only would you have to keep this card in your hand for a few turns and have it discarded multiple times to be worthwhile, it also don’t have any board impact at all and by the time you play it, more than likely your opponent’s gonna have an answer for it

Of course the dream is having this + a discard card in hand with imp on board, and literally just rotating discard cards to get the quest done. Seeing how Discolock is likely to become more midrange-ish, and this card is a beast (curator synergy), I think it’s perfectly possible that a turn like that could happen later in the game.

This is fantastic card for discard decks. The most interesting part about it is that it’s got the ‘beast’ tribal tag on it. All the warlock class needs now is a dragon synergy card…

They have one in Twilight Drake.

I think he means one that has a discard mechanic so that they can combo Beast/Dragon/Murloc with Discard?

Hmmm – it’s a Beast … this means there’s potential for synergy with The Curator there; which might not be a bad idea as it’s likely to be one of very few (if not the only) beasts you run and being Legendary there’ll only be one in your deck; the Curator gives you a 2nd chance to pull it – especially if you’re going for the quest as you’ll likely be running a slower game than regular Discolock I suspect.

This is so good for Discardlock because then it can discard cards without worrying too much above losing important cards. It is really going to help the quest chug along.

Except that they can keep it in their hand over many turns. Plus it’s 1 mana less and has Beast synergy. It’s obvious which is better.

I realize that with all the powerful beasts coming out, any cards that add random beasts to your hand like Infest will become stronger. Granted, this card isn’t any good in hunter, but in general Ungoro will hopefully be a godsend for hunter (pls blizzard).

You realize that this card is “Warlock Class”, right?

I’ve gotten cards like fierce monkey and savage combatant from infest…I think. Don’t remember tbh. May be confusing with Ram Wrangler.

Oh wow, a GOOD card for Discardlock! Once drawn, you will ALWAYS have a card to discard, letting Malchezaar’s Imp and Tiny Knight of Evil to thrive insanely well. Discard once, and you have a 2 mana 4/4 plus whatever huge benefit you got from your discard card. This card is BUSTED imo, but eh. Guess it’s a bad draw late game if you pick this up with an empty hand.

    Oh, and it’s a beast…? Kinda random…

The “Beast” tag is to blur out the lines between Discolock and Zoolock

      March 20, 2017 at 8:52 am

except tiny knight is going out with ungoro, plus your opponent will instantly know that this card is in your hand, once you discard it. So, then they’ll just save their big minion removal for when this hits the board. I want this card, but I see it being too easily countered.

Because your opponent is going to save his removal for the 4/4 when there is a Darkshire Councilman or a Doomguard on the board.

Just the fact that this card is immune to discard and adds towards the quest I think makes it rly busted. One of the best cards in this expansion for sure.
