The quality of the Shadow Spells Warlock will have access to is essential when it comes to evaluating the quality of this card. What we have right now is bad, and therefore this card is, but who knows, maybe a very good Shadow spell comes up and then this card ends up being amazing. Tbh, I don’t see a Shadow Warlock happening, and this is not what’s going to make it work.
It fits the curse package, but beyond that yeah, Warlock’s shadow spells are very meh.
Phylactery, agony, curses are all decent, what it comes down to is how the deathrattle is determined, is it locked in creation or does casting a shadow spell change the deathrattle post summon? If it is locked @ summon phylactery will be even more broken, if it changes with each cast curses will benefit more.

I didn’t think about the Curse strategy. This would definitely fit right in though, so I guess that’s how this is going to find play huh. Not thrilled at the idea, I despise Curse Warlock, but what can you do really.
Yeah playing phylactery with only hostile deathrattles then playing multiple rounds of nasty repeats can be scary. Shellfish alone could get super icky when you have 4 phylactery casting shadows. Brann>Darkvein> Mortal coil can set you up with 4 of the 6 cost aoe.
