This could be good in Hunter when combo-ed with cheap buffs like Adorable Infestation and Doggie Biscuit, which not only help it survive but give it increased attack. Plus you have cheap damage spells like Wounded Prey to help you manipulate the health of enemy minions in order to achieve an honorable kill. And then you could also use Trueaim Crescent, allowing your gnome to do a honorable kill, gain +2 attack, and then also go face, all in the same turn.

Cool. This could be pretty good in some aggro deck, but I find it kinda meh. lets say you attack this into a 1/1 what do you get? You kill the 1/1 and this becomes a 3/2. And that’s not very good, especially since this has to wait a turn before attack and your opponent could also damage it for an even worse result. And your opponent is not going to have a 1/1 out most of the time, unless you’re playing against paladin. And in the late game this minion doesn’t really do anything, because even if it exactly kills something, it is likely to go down with it.
I agree. Plus your opponent could just play around this by not playing a 1/1 on turn 1.
And there’s the fact that the +2 attack buff doesn’t trigger if you overkill. That means even if you buff this guy you might end up dealing too much damage and the attack buff won’t trigger.
