So there are some bad news and some good news. The bad news is that in the current system, it’s still possible to earn Coins for Mercenareis you have already maxed. You have upgraded all abilities + equipment? Too bad, you can still open more Coins in the packs. It can be a bit frustrating if, at the same time, you still have lots of Mercs that still need more upgrades.
However, community manager cmdylux has consulted with the devs and confirmed on reddit that there will be use for those excess Coins in the future. We still don’t know what that use might be, but it’s good to know that they won’t be completely useless.
What do you think those extra Coins will be used for? Will you be able to trade them for other Coins? Or maybe Mercs will get a higher max level and you will be able to upgrade them further?
Hey! I confirmed with the team today that there will be a use for excess coins in the future. We’ll share more info on those plans at a later time.
There’s quite clearly a space down the bottom left of the village for the training area, might be able to feed coins to other mercs to level them? Or some sort of trading function.
They’ll probably be used to buy alternate art/portraits for Mercs
and hopefully also can be traded (probably at a 3/1 or 5/1 ratio) for other Merc coins
The way this situation played out leads me to believe they completely overlooked this problem and when a user brought it up they just said “fuck it we’ll find something to do with the coins later”
You know what, I wouldn’t be surprised. At least they didn’t ignore the issue completely, because it really sucks to get resources that are just useless.
This feature was supposed to be in the game already, not in the future. Geez.
Not only that, we should already have the option to ‘trade’ merc coins we don’t like to something else.
