Shop Update: Mecha-Themed Skines For All 10 Classes + Ride or Die Battlegrounds Bundle

Patch 21.8 came with a really massive shop update. We’ve got new skins for all 10 regular Hearthstone Heroes, as well as a new Battlegrounds bundle. But there’s a twist, something that buyers have been asking for a long time!

Let’s start with regular skins. We have two new bundles:

  • Chrome Crusaders Bundle – Druid, Mage, Priest, Rogue, and Paladin alternate portraits + new card back for $29.99
  • Rusted Raiders Bundle – Demon Hunter, Hunter, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior alternate portraits + new card back for $29.99.

But here’s the twist I was talking about. Instead of buying entire bundles, you can now purchase individual skins!

  • Druid (Steel Guardian Malfurion) and Demon Hunter (Infernal Armor Illidan) can be purchased alongside the new card backs listed above for $9.99 each.
  • All other portraits can be bought for $6.99 each.

Druid and Demon Hunter portraits seem to be of a higher tier. They come with respective card back and include “animated portrait, new hero power animations, new visual effects and all new voicelines”. The other eight skins are more basic and only include “animated portrait and new voicelines for base emotes”. Still, I’m glad that Blizzard now offers them individually. It sucked when they released those 3-4 skins bundles and you only liked a single one, so you had to either skip it or get a bunch of portraits you don’t like.

But that’s not all – Battlegrounds players also got something new!

The new cosmetics bundle for Battlegrounds costs $19.99 and it includes Flightmaster Dungar alternate Bartender + seven new cosmetic Hero skins. This is the standard price for those bundles, so whether you get it or not really depends on how highly you value cosmetics or maybe whether you even play those Heroes in the first place.

Blizzard: No, we don’t want to print Overwatch related cards, we want to keep Hearthstone in a “phantasy-style” setting.
    Also Blizzard:

But seriously, I hope people will like it, some of the skins looks neat 🙂

Did they actually say that? Because in one of his AMAs, Iksar was saying that they’d love to do some cross-promotions with other franchises. Of course this is not exactly a cross-promo because it doesn’t promote anything specific, but I’m actually happy that they’re going beyond “Warcraft universe” (just like they did with Diablo in Mercs/BG/Duels).

It’s been mentioned somewhere… I’m sorry, I can’t find the original post, but it was basically a question “can we have some Overwatch cards too” and the reply was basically this. (ie. sci-fi in HS is a big no-no)

Those card backs look nice. Hope maybe they’ll be available with gold. And that bg Dungar is great.
