(Update – Players No Longer Getting Quests) “Happy New Year” Legendary Quests Are Out Now – Get 9 Packs in Total For Finishing All Three

To everyone’s surprise, we’ve got a new Legendary Quest chain called “Happy New Year!” Quests are already out on Asia and EU servers, and they should come to Americas soon (because of time zone differences).

My guess is that the Quests were planned for the Lunar New Year event (this year’s Lunar New Year is on February 12), but they were released a bit too early.

The chain consists of three Legendary Quests, each giving players 2x Darkmoon Faire card pack + 1x Scholomance Academy card pack:

  • Play 1 game of Battlegrounds.
  • Play 5 games of Duels.
  • Play 5 games of Standard Ranked.

You will get 9 packs in total for finishing all three (6x Darkmoon Faire + 3x Scholomance Academy). Good news is that the Quest doesn’t take away your regular space, you still have 3 Daily Quest slots, because Legendary Quests have a separate slot in the revamped progression system.

Update:

It seems that players are no longer getting those Quests. While we haven’t heard anything from the devs, I suspect that it’s because they’ve rolled out too early (like I’ve mentioned above). If you didn’t get them, don’t worry, they will probably drop next week or the week after for everyone. We’ll also update this post when we hear something from the devs.

Update #2:

Official Tweet from Hearthstone CN says that they indeed released them too early. Players who haven’t got the Quests yet will get them when they’re officially released. And players who already finished them won’t have their rewards taken away, but they just won’t get the Quests once they’re out.

Got and did the first two the day before saw the 3rd show up but now it is gone this morning. with other people saying it’s not in their list I’m guessing it was not supposed to drop at this point and it’s gotten pulled.

I didn’t receive any quest. Perhaps a bug happened, don’t know, does somebody been noticed about any bug or something?

Took about 90 seconds to finish the third one at bronze. Everyone was racing to concede. I went from bronze 8 to bronze 3, and got enough XP to go from level 55 to 57, without me or any of my opponents playing a single card in five games.

Lol, really? You can just concede and it will work? 😀

Yeah all quest that is about playing can just be conceded, same as play a specific hero.

I don’t know how they work now, but in the old system you couldn’t just concede them right away. You had to play the game for X turns before it counted.

Like, I remember specifically not conceding when I had for example Play X games as Warlock because sometimes when I conceded even around T6-T7 it didn’t count.

Because of that, I haven’t actually tested it, I thought that you still have to play through the game before conceding counts.

I was under the impression that there had to be lethal on board, or you already lost a good chunk of health, or there were x turns played or sth. It was not that you would never receive your progress if you concede. But you did not get it when you conceded right away.
            Maybe thats new, too.

100% before you could not just concede and revive credit on any of the play a game as quests. I think you could complete those quests on casual though. Now that you have to play ranked, I think that got rid of it.

In the beginning you could only concede from 15 health and below, didnt matter if it was T4 or T20. Then they changed it (no idea when tbh) and it was time/turn based as well..

Yeah, I’m not sure when it changed, I remember when you had to finish part of a game, too. But, I’ve been conceding for some quests for at least a few weeks now, if I’m in a hurry or don’t get quests for classes I like to play. Don’t even bother with the mulligan. Works in standard, duels (casual), and I think I’ve done it in brawls. Maybe it’s a bug and I should have kept my mouth shut…

Question: If i didn’t buy yet the mini set and I open a Darkmoon faire pack and i get a card grom the mini set I’ll be able to pay it with gold after that?

Yes but it’s a really bad idea, if you open a legendary from the new set you’ll end up with 2 rather than a new legend card.

You will, you’ll just get duplicates of the cards you’ve already opened.
