Feral Gibberer Card Review

Hello there Kuriboh, aren’t you cute! This little fuzzball… is just way too small. It has been historically true that 1-health minions have to be extremely pushed in order to see any play and Feral Gibberer is no exception to this rule. While it has the potential to start replicating like a pesky menace, it also dies to literally anything that deals damage. Even if it gets going and starts to swarm the board, it will be gone by the first sign of AoE damage. It doesn’t trade up even into other 1-cost minions! So, what do you do with it?

Buff it, that’s what. This card can grow in numbers very quickly once it starts connecting with the opponent’s face and an army of tokens is just waiting to get buffed. Enter your Mark of the LotusPower of the Wild, etc. In a class such as Paladin you can buff them straight in your hand! Alternatively, you can use all those extra 1-cost cards you have just generated to trigger abilities that care about minions being summoned. Remember how 1 health was bad? With a Steward of Darkshire in play, suddenly they all have Divine Shield and aren’t looking half bad. Switch that up, look at their single attack point. In Wild, ye olde Hobgoblin is waiting to buff the fuzzballs into scary monsters. Even an ordinary 1 mana 1/1 can do great things… when you have lots and lots of them!

Despite all that, we still have to look at how often we will realistically be able to generate extra copies. The 1/1 body is as fragile as they get and it’s hard to imagine it surviving just about any reasonable turn in Constructed. That said, sometimes the opponent could simply not have anything to play, letting you get the ball rolling, especially in the Arena format, where Turn 1 plays are reasonably likely to be skipped. But without any good way to give this guy Charge, you should not count on him surviving the turn.

Seriously don’t know why this card rating is so low. It works really well with journey to un’goro cards. I’m really happy to see cards like this that will make earlier expansions more playable. Multiple +1+1 in a paladin deck and other power ups would give you unlimited cheap powerful minions. If played right it could be like rogue quest, but more fun and less gimicky.

I’ve reached rank 15 using this card in combo with thrall death seer and blood lust. My deck includes tons of summoning minions, and low cost removal spells which silence annoying minions along with hex which practically eliminates every single giant minion. I won a game in rank 16 by getting 7 of these on the board and using two blood lusts, to deal a total of 49 damage to face. 7+7(3)+7(3)

Random has even found his way here to the depths of hearthstone (couldn’t hearthstosne come up with something better to not make it look like a beast(I mean the race)after all they are the smoking kings(I mean when you add too much flavor))
*note:bring a lot of silence(recruit, rin, everything else)

To clear stuff up, this DOES NOT KEEP ITS BUFFS when it copies itself to ur hand. Idk why people think it does, no other card works that way.

For anyone wondering if you buff this on teh borad and attack teh enemy hero an exact copy, stats and other buffs like taunt and divine shield, will be put into your hand and still cost only one many. this is a great temo card for Druid, Paladin, and Priest. now the only down side is that you have to attack teh hero directly and any taunt minions could be annoying but being able to constantly drop a 1 mana creature that can keep buffing furture copies of its self is great. Hell, in wild Temo this seems great because of the other buff cards you have. Now is this rediculous, no. It can be stoped early by any type of simple removal before you get to attacka nd buff it. But if they don’t then you can go nutz and jsut drop increasingly stonger 1 mana creautes all game.

Nah, anytime a minion gets bounced back to your hand any buff/debuff disappear.
Provided that this 1 HP minion survives a turn to deal 1 dmg to your opponent (you can’t use it to trade) you will end your turn with another amazing 1 mana 1/1 in your hand! yeah!

Nah, this minion is nothing to write home about

This is way too easily killed, a 1/1 will almost never survive to attack face and even if it does its still way to weak. Might see play in quest hunter but remember you skip turn one playing your quest, and if you play this on turn 2, there’s no chance it’ll ever attack face.

    1/5

People have speculated both. I’m not sure either. The terminology of “copy of this card” is what makes me think that. Because the oozes work like that even though I’m aware that’s all on the board. We’ll see even if it comes back vanilla it’s good in some interesting cases
