BlizzCon Packs Replace Virtual Ticket In-Game Goodies, Hearthstone’s Expansion Date Revealed?

BlizzCon 2023 is starting in just a bit over 3 weeks (November 3-4) after a few years of break. The last in-person event happened back in 2019. Unlike the previous years, the upcoming convention will be completely free to watch online – you don’t need any tickets. However, if you’re still interested with the extra, in-game goodies that normally came with BlizzCon tickets – don’t worry, they’re still available.

Here are the two available tiers with all of the items inside of them. If you’re attending BlizzCon in-person, all of the ticket owners will get a code for the Legendary Pack.

Those are generally worth it only if you play multiple Blizzard games, as the rewards stack up quite nicely. But for just one game, it’s probably not worth the $30/$50 asking price. Anyway, if you’re interested, you can get those on the Battle.net store.

Epic Pack ($29.99 USD)

Enjoy these items from multiple games in addition to receiving a 10% discount off one item in the Blizzard Gear Store (restrictions apply):

  • Hearthstone: the BlizzCon 2023 card back, 5 Standard packs, and 5 Golden Standard packs
  • World of Warcraft: Dragonflight: new Ysergle pet and the Chilling Celebration Banner toy
  • Diablo IV: the ferocious Lapisvein Mount, the Cobalt Ensign Mount Trophy, and the Demon-Mother Countenance Mount Trophy*
  • Overwatch 2: 1,000 credits, a Murky weapon charm, and a mystery name card**
  • Warcraft Rumble: the Murloc Kobold portrait and skin**

Legendary Pack ($49.99 USD)

Level up to this bundle to get everything in the Epic Pack plus:

  • Hearthstone: a mystery Signature Legendary card***
  • World of Warcraft: Dragonflight: the Bound Blizzard flying mount
  • Diablo IV: the fearsome Midnight Harness Mount Armor* and a Premium Battle Pass redeemable for any one season*
  • Overwatch 2: the Drowned Warrior Sigma Epic skin as well as a Season 7 Premium Battle Pass
  • Warcraft Rumble: the Murloc Tower skin**

As you can see, Hearthstone gets a BlizzCon 2023 card back, 5x Standard Packs, 5x Golden Standard Packs, and a “mystery Signature Legendary card”.

Also, what’s interesting is that Blizzard MIGHT HAVE given out the upcoming expansion’s release date. Here’s what the Battle.net store says about the Hearthstone’s “mystery Legendary” card:

Hearthstone®: Mystery Signature Legendary Card will be revealed by November 5th 2023, and will be available in game by November 14th 2023.

It can mean two things. Either the free Legendary from the next expansion will be revealed at BlizzCon, but released in Patch 27.6 by November 14… or “by November 14” is the next expansion’s release date. I think that the latter is much more likely – Patch 27.4 was released 3 weeks ago. If we had to wait 5 more weeks, that would mean ~2 months between those patches, which is unprecedentedly long. There would also be no real point in waiting for 10 days to drop a patch after announcing the expansion/new card at BlizzCon.

I speculated that the third expansion of the year will be released earlier for a while now (the release cadence was faster than usual) so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was announced at or shortly before BlizzCon and then dropped around November 14. Of course, that still doesn’t confirm anything, but it’s a big clue pointing that way.

Not sure Blizzcon bundles availability are associated with rewards track though..

To be fair the release of the next expansion being November 14th. is kinda set in stone for a while now.
Especially if we look at the expiration date for the TITANS rewards track, which is November 14th., if you look at the battle.net shop that is.

That’s a good catch. So all clues do point to the November 14 release date. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% happening because things can always get delayed, but I’m like 90% sure about it now.

I might be interested in the mystery card, any idea of those bundles availability deadline ?

I was more precisely wondering whether we can wait for the reveal to make our mind up or must give a blind call …

Good question. I don’t see any end dates for those bundles, so I can’t be sure.

If I had to guess, you should still be able to purchase them throughout BlizzCon. And I assume that whatever big Hearthstone announcements there are, they will drop on Day 1. So if you like what you see, you should still be able to get the bundle.

But just to be clear – that’s my guess and I’m not 100% sure.
