Twitch Drops for Duels Early Access Now Available Across the Entire Hearthstone Category

Update: If you got the drop, but can’t access Duels yet – try waiting a bit. Official rules state that that the access will be given out within 48 hours.

Duels, the new Hearthstone game mode, was released in the early access last week. In order gain access, players needed to purchase one of the Darkmoon Faire pre-order bundles. But that chages now! While the pre-order is still the only guaranteed way to get in, Duels early access will start dropping on Twitch.

Once you link your accounts (if you don’t know how to do it, there’s a guide in the official blog post below), watch any Hearthstone stream and… that’s it. 500x Duels Early Access will be dropped every hour randomly. Given the usual Hearthstone’s viewership on Twitch, that gives you 1-2% to get picked in theory. In practice it’s a big higher, because some people don’t have their accounts linked, and others have got the drop already. It still doesn’t seem like a high chance, but no one says that you need to actively watch the streams. If you just leave it open in the background, you are very likely to get the access pretty quickly, maybe even before the weekend. And if you get lucky, even sooner.

If you don’t get lucky, however, you will need to wait until November 12 for the Duels early access launch across the board (but – even better – until November 17 when the Season 1 launches, new Hero Powers & Treasures get released etc.).

Good luck, everyone!

I got the drop and my accounts are linked, but I can’t actually play the mode. It keeps asking me to buy the preorder. Anyone else having this issue?

Same. I haven’t heard from anyone who hasn’t had this problem, actually.
