I think Tame Beast is a decent card for Hunter, But I think you also just want to use it when your as a rank 2 at minimum? so, 3 Strs? Maybe?

Does the 6/6 beast cost 2 as well? If yes then it could be useful with dire frenzy. But it will probably cost 6.

    Unleash the beast but bad.

I feel like they’re being too careful with these rank spells, Hunter can’t make any use of an effect like this cause it won’t make it to 10 mana and a good aggro deck should be around finishing the game by turn 5-6 rather than play tempo. Ultimately it’s a card that just sits in your hand for nothing. There’s better 2-drops. The 5 mana effect ain’t worth it and if you’re going for 10 mana you might as well cast something like Nagrand Slam

This might not see a ton of play, but the difference between this and nagrand slam is huge. with 10 mana, you only need to spend 2 to get a 6/6 rush. and at 5 mana a 4/4 with rush for 2 is great.

The only deck I can see this being considered is highlander hunter.. Which is pretty sad

The really interesting thing is that this works both in a potential spell-heavy hunter deck with the new draw legendary AND it works in the midrange beast shell I’ve been hoping for from the moment Sunscale Raptor got previewed. Playing this on curve is not the worst thing in the world; there are better things you could do, sure, but it’s not garbage. But even upgrading this ONCE makes it so much more powerful than the median. 2 mana for a 4/4 body with immediate board impact? 2 mana for a 6/6 in the late game, something even Unleash the Beast couldn’t make? The gut reaction is to say this card is bad because “Hunter doesn’t play slow”, but the point is this card is only as slow as you want it to be. being able to simultaneously affect the early, mid, and late game is the key midrange capability that beast hunter needs.

idk about these cards man, they are so bad to play on curve… im not sure if its worth mana reduction late game and the flex.

Mana reduction is also only as relevant as the cards you play alongside it that turn.

If you play this on turn 6 and don’t do anything relevant with the saved mana besides like HP, this is still strictly worse than Unleash the Beast.

Honestly, it can still be compared to the 2/1 Echo dog especially in it’s rank 1 form (rarely do you ever get a value trade with 2 health).

A nice card at all points scales up quite a bit for it’s cost at the end there
