Poor stats to cost ratio. Doesn’t impact the board the turn you play it. Requires another card to be of almost any use. Will not see constructed play.

It’s pretty good with validated doomsayer IMO.

Does it litterally take a minion from our deck or it generates a copy of 1 of our minion in our deck with less attack than this card ?

    • Foodbeard
      July 30, 2017 at 8:45 am

It doesn’t say “copy.” So like Y’shaarj, it should pull the actual minion out of your deck.

Token and quite possibly handbuff could make this card playable in someway.

“One of the strangest and most dire tools utilized by the undead Scourge is the dreaded Meat Wagon. This rickety contraption is used to collect and store recently slain corpses from the field of battle. At any time, corpses can be pulled from the Meat Wagon and raised into undead warriors. The Meat Wagon can also ‘fling’ diseased corpses at enemy units by use of a crude catapult device. An invaluable support vehicle for the Scourge, the Meat Wagon strikes fear and woe into the hearts of even the most resolute defenders.” (Source: classic.battle.net)

IT could bring out a doomsayer What would be kind of cool

      July 30, 2017 at 5:08 am

That would be a good surprise for the oponent and that coukd even make the oponent afraid of killing it. But if you think about it. If you would be a priest and buff it up to 8/8 wouldnt it summon any minion below 8 attack?

And that would make it quitr powerful. Sure you’ll lose the battlecry of that paticular minion but there are so many deathratlle minions or just minions tgat can help hold a board. I would say that this card can either be a caller of board clear or somthing that could turn the board control over to you. But thats only in a best case scenario. Who knows how it will do in practice.

this card wuld have been terrible even on three mana but on 4 it is just obscene. So for me this is 100 easy dust

    I wonder.
Everyone is going on about that this card gets you a random minion from your deck.
But the cardtext doesn´t say “random minion” but only “minion”.
So it is quite possible that you get to choose the minion you summon. And if this is true than thats actually a really powerfull effect.

    • User
      July 30, 2017 at 12:40 am

No, deathlord summons a random minion and it’s card text just reads ‘minion’, so it is most likely this will be random as well.

Very interesting concept and I think Hearthstone needs more of these kinds of wacky combo cards. One thing I miss about MTG is that wacky-combo decks can actually be viable. Silence Priest is kind of like that, but it’s struggling in the meta.

That being said, I don’t think this will help much to make more combo decks viable. I would guess the odds are 5% that someone builds a deck that completely breaks this, and 95% that this just stays a useless card.

Why is this useless? Well, on paper it sounds pretty good to buff this and then get a “”””free”””” (heavy, heavy airquotes) minion with 3 or 4 attack. Some things to keep in mind, though:

    • It’s a 1/4 for 4, so it has almost zero board impact and it costs almost nothing for your opponent to trade into it. Shredder is amazing because it’s a pretty good on-curve play. This doesn’t have that going for it.
    • It’s slow. Unless you pull some crazy shenanigans to kill it the turn it comes out, you will have to wait at least one turn to trigger its deathrattle. Meanwhile, pirates are going apeshit on your face.
    • It pulls any random minion with less attack. Even if you buff it to 12 attack, it could still pull an Argent Squire.
    • If you buff it to get something more powerful, you’re spending at least 2 cards (and maybe multiple turns) to maybe summon a 4- or 5-drop. You could accomplish the same thing for less by just playing a good 4-drop instead of this.
    • It is completely awful if you don’t draw a card to buff it. Same reason Buffadin is a garbage-tier deck: don’t depend on 2-card combos, because there will be plenty of times you don’t draw them together.

    • Opal736
      July 30, 2017 at 10:43 am

Completely agree with you, but I think you are missing something… what if you don’t buff it? And I’m talking about spawn warlock here.

This in turn 4, then in turn five you break this to get an egg and then break the egg to get a 3/3, a 4/4 that adapts twice and either a 5/5 or a bonus draw (your choice depending on how you build the deck)… not complete garbage I’d say

      • Foodbeard
        July 31, 2017 at 5:37 pm

That would be pretty good tempo if you’re lucky enough to draw all those things when you need them and there’s nothing else you need to deal with on your opponent’s board. Oh, and assuming your opponent doesn’t kill the Wagon on his turn. Or worse, Hex it or something.

For all the luck it would take to make that work, you end up with:

        3/3 + 4/4 Adapt*2 + 5/5

That’s better than playing a 4-drop and then a 5-drop, but not by that much. And it’s a pretty fragile combo–if you happen to not have all of the cards you need, you’ll have an awkward turn.

It has some glimmers of potential, but I don’t think it will be constructed-viable in Standard.

Definitely good enough to play in Mech Paladin decks

This comment section seems really 1-dimensional in assessing this card. It was clearly made for creative, versatile deckbuilding and could be very powerful either for specific combos (maybe 0 attack minions but y’all thinking just those seems silly, obviously supposed to alter the attack on this minion before it dies). For example, while on its own pulling 0 attack minions its clearly worse than piloted shredder, buffing it to 3-4 attack basically puts it on par (so just plus 2-3 attack), then beyond that it would be massively better than piloted shredder (as it gives you better than 2 drops).

Making this card not only playable but also very good would just require fine tuning a balance that makes it do what you want efficiently, which makes the question of whether this is good more about what class or thing you’re going for with it and if the combo would be efficient enough to see play. If you just wanted an on-curve good 4 drop like water elemental then you’re going to hate this card.

4/5 for a new card that enables interesting and powerful decks not currently in the meta, like maybe deathrattle bloodlust shaman (blood lust is the finisher, this card with +attack enables the zoo. could also skip the BL and go control), new rogue shenanigans with controlled tutor effect, or maybe just another necessary sticky minion for buffadin.

It’s not an auto-include card and it relies on clever deckbuilding, sorry not sorry. This is the kind of thing we should be excited about with the launch of a new expansion because its the best time to experiment, and this thing has a lot of potential and shouldn’t be written off just because making it work is complicated.

Another card for the “Neat, but probably never gets played” pile.

Noteworthy is that this card actually works pretty well with Crazed Alchemist/Kooky Chemist, but even then it’ll frequently just get killed, leaving it only to summon a random card from your deck for 4 mana. As we’ve seen from priest, such as thing isn’t very good.

There are ways to buff this thing to make it good, but the problem is that it’s ONLY good if it gets buffed. As we’ve seen with the “Quest Pally” thing, that frequently is a bad sign. Most of the best stuff to play with this either requires a lot of mana, or requires this thing to survive a turn on the board. Seems… overly optimistic.

And in a lot of cases, you’ll likely end up pulling a battlecry from your deck and ruining the value, so even putting Spikeridge Steed with this thing won’t happen because pally doesn’t want to lose the effect from Hydrologist. Any higher and you risk losing Aldor, Stampeding Kodo, Primordial Drake…

Priest arguably could do something with this using Divine Spirit + Inner Fire, but they’d rather just use that on a better card like Ancient Watcher or Humongous Razorleaf.

tl;dr Interesting design, but card is overall bad.

I honestly seeing this fitting into Warlock Zoo somehow, using this with abusives and dark iron dwarves seems pretty good along with the fact that you can just use it to pull your devil eggs along with feeding your pterrodax or the new sanguine reveler

      • Foodbeard
        July 29, 2017 at 6:42 pm

Mmmmmmmayyyyyybeeee… but I still think it’s crippling for Zoo to spend its entire turn 4 playing a 1/4. Even if it gets you an egg, you spent turn 4 playing a minion that has no board impact, to get another minion that has no board impact, that you hope you can maybe combo with a Pterrordax or a Reveler.

Chillwind Yeti is looking pretty good right about now. 🙂

I actually like this for buff paladin quite a bit, with clever buffing you can use it to trade and tutor out specific minions for whatever situation you may be playing against

    • Dude
      July 29, 2017 at 3:18 pm

What kind of minions would u run in a hand buff pali? Mostly small ones. If u pull off that complicated combo u deathrattle a 1/1 (argent squire) or 2/2 (double G.) It doesn’t say that it tries to get the highest valid target. Meh.

      • George
        July 29, 2017 at 5:28 pm

For quest paladin blessing of might, trade, instantly tutor out the vorax. Do this around turn 7 so you can throw spike ridge steed on vorax and you have a huge swing.

But I probably should have been more specific in stating in paladin deck that runs buffs could see benefits here

Yep, unfortunately, BUT crazy combo incoming without Buffs, pulls out validated doomsayer lol^^

    • KaihatsuJai
      July 29, 2017 at 6:46 pm

Thought about it for minute, but 4 mana is really expensive, especially when deathrattle puts an unbuffed card into play.
Most of the creatures have battlecry too, so that is lost as well.
It really works against the handbuff archetype.

This card is overstatted, but slow. It isn’t bad in Shaman with Manatide and Flametongue. It might make Summoning Portal good in Warlock. Devilsaur Egg is good to summon, as well.

I don’t know about this card. First of all the minions with 0 health: Blood Imp, Alarm-o-Bot, Devilsaur Egg, Doomsayer, Flametounge Totem, Lightwell, Lightspawn, Lorewalker Cho, Mana Tide Totem, Nat Pagle, Primalfin Totem, Public Defender, Runic Egg, Shieldbearer, Street Trickster, Summoning Portal.

Few of these minions are good and could be used with this. The totems are ok with this and the eggs. I don’t know about Doomsayer with this. You want to play your Doomsayer in the right situations.
One minion with no impact brings out another minion with no impact. Everyone will ignore this card.
Maybe I just don’t understand this card. But I think it’s just a bad card.

    • Joe
      July 29, 2017 at 11:29 am

What about getting a 7/7 validated doomsayer at start of your turn that might be good

      • Piterno
        July 29, 2017 at 12:41 pm

Plus if your opponent’s ahead on board in zoo you can Taunt it with that 1 2/3 card that gives adjacent minions taunt (not argus, the 2 mana one) and then they have to kill it and then find a way to get rid of the doomsayer that comes from it.

Anyone else thinking this is a good card in Priest to always pull a lightspawn. As long as u have lightspawn in deck it is 4 mana 1/4 deathrattle summon lightspawn, or buff it to get bigger dudes.

Really interesting concept, but no taunt, 4 mana not 3 or 1-attack not 2 (either one would have been nice), and lastly the only thing I think this guy combo’s well with is doomsayer, egg decks, or decks that can buff this minion effectively.

True totems from deck (I totally forgot about that at first) still a slow card though but yah.
