This card is better than people think. At worst its a 4/5 for 4 which is a great stat line, especially since Rogue has weak four drops overall after losing Tomb Pillager. Not to mention it will be great in miracle Rogue during the times where your hand is filled with cheap spells meant to combo with a gadgetzan or edwin. I personally am really looking forward to seeing what shenanigans come from this card.

My guess is that this card is pretty good and will make burgle tempo rogue pretty good. It fills 4 mana drop place o rogue which was never really filled after Tomb Pillager went to wild (although Sherazin was not bad, he wan’t a perfect fit for tempo deck).
The only problem about this card which I believe is making its rating so low is that it does not have any new idea for its effect, and the kind of combo that we can imagine from this card can be already done already by existing card such as burgle, and therefore not so exiting.

can someone explaine to me the hate behind this card???? the rogue has a lot of usefull cheap spells that generaly are only good early game/ to combo. I have had rogue games where i combo early and my cheap spells mid/late are not overly usefull and this worst case senario makes a lot of ur low cost borderline useless spells decent later in the game.

also isnt there a card that reduces the cost of non rogue spells? is that still in standard?

Yep, It was an MTG easter egg included in WoW, and now it has made it’s way to Hearthstone.

Swashburglar, Hallucination, Shaku, Burgle (wild), Undercity Huckster (wild) and now Lilian Voss … could make for a very weird game vs Priest.

Huckster is WOG which is still in standard

Why do i get the feeling that this card is going to be like Sherazin; people hate it now, but its going to turn out to be decent.

    • Squirrel
      August 2, 2017 at 4:35 am

Trust your feeling. It is a chill wind yeti with a unique comes into play ability.

This card is similar to Tarin.

The people that gave this 1 star are the same people that gave Kamari sacrifice 5 stars.

The way you use this card is to turn razor petals and coins into better cards in the mid to late game….

It can be very good with Ethereal Peddler.

it’s also a re-roll from the other shitty spells u got from swashburglar etc. got that card from shaman that gives a minion +1/+1 for every totem u control? try again

    • xaxaar
      August 2, 2017 at 3:03 am

also worth mentioning that – when playing rogue – theres zero lifegain, so getting random spells is how u beat aggro a good amnt of the time

    5 STAR!!!!

  11. TheGrimone
    August 2, 2017 at 1:15 am

A 4 mana 4/5 that replaces your dead hand and low value spells.
Also a way to turn your razorleaves into actual value.
For three expansions now everybody cries about the rogue legendary that in the end turn out quite well.

Going to be a hit card in the new Rogue archetype: “Concede Rogue”, where you play this and then Concede.

You put Rogue spells in your deck for very specific purposes, be they combos, removal, or miracles. Suddenly yanking all of them out and replacing them with random spells from the opponent’s class is just asking for despair.

You don’t even get a discount on the cards. The only way I could see anyone getting any use out of this card is if someone plays Ethereal Peddler the turn after to get the 2 mana discount on the spells in hand.

Awful card, certainly will be no fun to play.

    • RV
      August 1, 2017 at 9:26 pm

And, no, keeping a bunch of coins in hand and then using this instead of using them for Auctioneer to shuffle through your deck for that miracle play is not a good idea.

      • Muzek
        August 2, 2017 at 12:04 am

Lets not forget we dont know the rogue hero card yet. Id be willing to bet that theres some synergy here, some good (if not at least decent) effect that’ll trigger whenever a spell from the opponents class is played. You said it yourself, rogue is all about combos so you shouldn’t jusde a particular card so harshly before seeing if there are cards that support it.

          September 7, 2017 at 2:37 am

And on turn 4 u can exchange all your good rogue spells because u havent got any other creatures to play. Brilliant.

We shouldn’t be judging the power level of this card. You know why? Because it’s fun as hell. And why do we play the game? To have fun.
I for one am happy this set is focusing on fun rather than op cards

Why does Rogue get such fucking good legendary cards with every set. Its not fair for Rogue to get all the good cards and have real classes like warrior get meme decks.

  17. Brann
    August 1, 2017 at 7:09 pm

Guys just think a little bit, this card could turn a bunch of useless coins in your hand into spells

Cards like Burgle Bully could work great with this card, and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see another card in Rogue that adds coins to your hand by the end of this Expac

Think Lyra, you get random cards for casting spells- and everyone thought Lyra was terrible

This could be like the Rogue Lyra, it could get you a bunch of free Rogue spells just from coins in your hand

And worst case is it’s a 4-5 for 4 manna which is stated properly for a 4 drop anyways

I think people are way undervaluing this card

    • fancy
      August 1, 2017 at 11:47 pm

It won’t get you free Rogue spells, but random spells from your opponents class:).

  18. miaozer
    August 1, 2017 at 6:52 pm

I think most people are underestimating this card. I play alot of miracle rogue and something that will eventually happen in your games as miracle rogue is that u stack up your hand with alot of cheap spells but never draw into a gadgetzan, which then leads into an automatic loss because your hand is garbage without the auctioneer. However with this card you’re no longer always have to rely on getting an auctioneer in order for your cheap spells to have value.

It’s basically a nice bail out for when you run into an unlucky situation. Not bad design and good stats.

  19. Amjakiro
    August 1, 2017 at 6:10 pm

Come on blizzard, stop making rng-based card like this.

It should be Discover, not random!

Rogue is dead in this expansion.

    • ...
      August 1, 2017 at 8:48 pm

Would you have fun waiting for your opponent to discover 9 spells if they dropped this with a full hand?

Actually agree with you though, they should make the set stronger. Give every minion spoiled so far +4/+4 and immune right?

    • Anton Wilzewski
      August 2, 2017 at 7:02 am

This is not a too heavy rng dependent card, because a lot of random effects have an average outcome, like Cthun or Vulcano for shaman. This is like the golden monkey from Elise starseeker. Late game you can change your sprints, coins and other low value spells into random value cards with the upside to starseeker of leaving one card type intact. This card is easily 4,5/5 stars.

  20. Jexzis
    August 1, 2017 at 6:04 pm

to start off i think people are being to judgmental of this card, and i remember not to long ago when ppl said quest rouge was worth 1/5 star and warlock is 5/5. For me it has potential to be fantastic sense it could make bad cards that you gott from burgle into good ones. also its a 4/5 for 4 which is good stats and best of all ITS LILIAN VOSS. if you leveled a undead like me you know was a cool charakter. To be honest i want this card to be good because of it being Lilian Voss. Also to the person who said that Lilian Voss where a “magic ripoff” they don´t have that many things in common other then there names. I mean where do you get necromancers and rouges to connect.

  21. Werg
    August 1, 2017 at 5:56 pm

All cards in this expansion: discover/replace your cards with another random cards that probably also have a random effect (the card pool is full with discover/summon random cards) that will summon a minion with random cost minion.

  22. Eloard
    August 1, 2017 at 5:54 pm

I dont find any use of this card in any deck….. I try to be positive perhaps in arena if you have a very bad hand or if you have burglebully on Board, but I think it´s just 400 Dust.

  23. Helioshade
    August 1, 2017 at 5:46 pm

I might just craft this cuz I only play Rogue lmao.

But I can see some use in a Miracle Rogue + Ethereal Peddler deck. Idk, often I’ll end up with a bunch of useless spells in my hand which do little to nothing. Razorpetals, coins, etc. Turning them into, say, 2-cost fireballs is game-winning. Obviously you could roll low, but most spells are useful in some way 😉

  25. billius

well, this should definitely never be played anywhere other than arena, and maybe not even then

  26. Playwright
    August 1, 2017 at 5:09 pm

There was always a major risk when playing Burgle Rogue of getting useless cards which are unplayable. This card is able to cycle those unusable cards if they are a spell, as well as having solid stats. Not to mention that there are cards that give Rogue near small weak spells.

  27. RulerofNight
    August 1, 2017 at 4:58 pm

Does anyone realize the obvious magic ripoff – Lilian Voss = Liliana Vess (MTG Plainswalker)

    • Taurogue
      August 1, 2017 at 5:14 pm

Yes. And I’m sure someone else noticed it 7 years ago when the Cataclysm expansion added this character to WOW. Blizzard hasn’t been sued into oblivion since then, so I think adding Lilian as a card in Hearthstone won’t add any more legal heat than they’ve already gotten.

      • Some guy from MtG

        I agree. It’s a legal parody, even a good one I’d say.

    • Djelibaebi
      August 1, 2017 at 4:38 pm

i realise i read spells as cards, but this is still kinda crap? i mean they are going to be random that will always be worse than a structured deck (unless your spells are crap, then why are you running them? unless only one or two are bad in which case thats not a lot of value may as well have been a swashbuckler or something, that at least draws you a card)

      • CarnivoreApple
        August 1, 2017 at 4:47 pm

Curves right into need something unusual
Full hand of random discounted cards can be very strong
Look at unstable portal and primordial glyph

This card has potential, not sure if it will be realised though

  30. potocki
    August 1, 2017 at 4:31 pm

for reaal we wait so long for rogue legendary and get this?…. shaku didnt work as a burgle legy this is just horrible you need your preps and backstabs thats why you play rogue
compare it to renounce darkness, its also bad because you could just build another class’ constructed deck

    • Djelibaebi
      August 1, 2017 at 4:41 pm

i think the idea is that if you get in a situation where your spells arent useful (like when you have a hand with a couple of preps at turn 10), you play this and get some different (random) value…. but why not just play burgle? that draws you cards (without additional cost). This discards your cards for something that would be less reliable.
You’re hardly ever gonna discard 2 back stabs and a prep to get 2 fireballs and a frost bolt.

  31. Vincent
    August 1, 2017 at 4:28 pm

Why would you wanna play this card? You want your rogue (low cost) spells for Gadgetzan Auctioneer. It’s like a Chillwind Yeti with bad wording. It has synergy with Burgly Bully, but the reward is random spells. Sounds like 400 dust to me.

    • CD001
      August 2, 2017 at 5:10 am

Maybe, just maybe, it’s NOT intended for the Miracle archetype…

  32. Immolate
    August 1, 2017 at 4:26 pm

It’s a four drop (which Rogue needs), it is well statted, and it curves perfectly into Ethereal Peddler.

Going to be pulling out the old Burgle Rogue deck soon.

    • Hector Mario
      August 1, 2017 at 5:55 pm

Drop four needs? some one dont see Sherazin??

is the perfect Drop 4, Sherazin runs very well in the one unique Rogue deck tier, the Miracle.

what a Rogue needs a new combo card with charge, no this random sh it..

      • Immolate
        August 1, 2017 at 6:32 pm

Sherazin is ONE CARD. One four drop in the whole deck makes Miracle Rogue somewhat inconsistent. If you don’t draw Sherazin, you don’t have a four drop and he doesn’t get value for the rest of the game. Also, even if you play Sherazin on curve, he sucks against aggro. Lillian Voss is much better statted, is a four drop, and provides a cool effect.

I’m not saying that Sherazin is a bad card, and I’m not saying that Lillian Voss is going to see a lot of play at high ranks. I just think that it’s a cool card and that I like it in Rogue. There is no reason to have a negative attitude about interesting cards that help new Rogue archetypes.

        • KekKaplan
          August 2, 2017 at 12:09 am

I don’t see the value of this card, although is a four drop and all of the spell played in the miracle archetype are quite mediocre.
The philosophy of the deck is to play cheap spell with auctioneer and resolve the game with a big threath or reanimate sherazin in order to constantly threat the opponent.
If you play this card, which can be good in some matchups (mage/druid which have both cheap spell) this card is a dead draw in other cases (paladin/warlock/priest).
And in most match you play a yon of spell in the first turn and for the rest of the game you have mostly creatures in your hand.

          • Immolate
            August 2, 2017 at 7:35 am

I’m not sure where you think I said this would be a good card in Miracle Rogue. This is an insane card in Burgle Rogue, but it probably won’t be super great in Miracle.

“And in most match you play a yon of spell in the first turn and for the rest of the game you have mostly creatures in your hand.” Have you actually played Miracle Rogue? You generally do not do this unless you have an Edwin, which is not “most games.” You want to wait for a Gadgetzan swing turn to use your spells.

    • CypherC
      August 1, 2017 at 4:54 pm

Yes, sometimes you need 400 dust to craft a good legendary. That’s like the only good use for this card.

    • Beartiger
      August 1, 2017 at 5:02 pm

Yes. I see this card as a tech card against control decks. Because if miracle rogue does not win the game in tempo plays. You can try playing in late game.

The best matchs are against priest, druid and mage.

      5/10
