Its worse than both Masters Call and Dire Frenzy. People are saying about value but in almost any Hunter deck tempo is much more importamt, you are not winning games with fatigue dmg. Aldo its pretty bad with Zuljin. Maybe Will go into singleton Hunter and some tier 3 deck. 3/5

3 mana “draw 3” seems really good, even more when you consider running one of these in a singleton brann deck. The card pools seem good as well. 4/5

Honestly guys let’s make this a 5 star card, also is a common, blizzard is getting way better about things. And yeah though it is a loss in tempo, the 3 mana slot is so overcrowded for hunter that this might be worth settting up for turn 4, plus you’ll always be able to play a secret next turn, even misdirection is good if your side of the board is empty (which can happen a lot on turn 4, especially if you go second, and this card’s slight loss of tempo)

It’s literally a more ‘flexible’ Cabalist’s tome that is 2 mana less, this is insane value, lots of potential in basically every hunter, especially midrange I would assume.

Must have. Don’t care. this works for ANY Hunter. 5 Stars. Don’t care if I’m too hyped.

Expect to see a lot of Highlander hunters on day 1… it might be actually viable!!!

This will be hilarious with some lul’jin shenanigans. Very strong card indeed.

A solid card generator, you have to weigh the pros and cons against this versus Master’s Call. Will definitely see play after the rotation, I imagine. Also a good card to pull from Marked Shot, or include in a Brann Highlander Deck.

Zul’jin will double this up (also the generated secret if you play it) but tbh seems like it’ll overstuff your hand, and it’d suck not to get those extra copies of Unleash the Beast…

It really doesnt compete with masters call. A masters call deck by definition plays beast synergy, making a random hunter beast way better. You put this in your masters call hunter as a 1 off abd you will like it

Overrated… 3/5 maybe include one copy in zuljin for value deck but random never as good as masters call

Many times your hand becomes full when playing Zuljin – so this might be an issue.
I think it’s good card but definitely not 5 stars,
It will see lots of play after rotation (next year), but currently it’s not strong to be auto included.
Good support for “Reno” (Bran) deck.

If this would be in KaC: Play beast, secret or weapon to upgrade -> max upgrade: add Huffer, Kill Command and quick shot to your hand.

Yep I can see pretty much EVERY Hunter running at minimum one copy of this when your hunter the strong zone for you is early to mid game. When you get to late game you start getting in top deck mode because your hand usually has maybe 3 cards at most. Had several times where I had as much as 5 Mana extra even after popping a hero power.

This is a bit ridiculous with Zuljin as well instead of just refilling hand with unleash the beast and random spells you could get beasts secrets and weapons as well. I’m ignoring masters call because I’ve had few games where it only pulled 1 when Zuljin triggered (dire frenzied beast).

I find this card very average.. Is like why you pay 3 mana to get a radom beast, radom weapon and radom secret.. Hunter has the best beast, has decent secrets and right now two great weapons to play.. Why you pay 3 mana to get radom cards? I believe hunter dont need that card.. Has decent card draw with master call on turn three.. And when come out with Zuljin, you need to get in your hand 5/5 cards and not radom beasts,weapons,secrets.. Is fun card no doubt but seems more a arena card than useful a card for ladder.. Hunter dont need casino cards.. Need damage..

I think that the tempo loss is too big for this to see constructed play. Top decking this on turn 6 or 7 feels bad too.

      July 22, 2019 at 6:12 am

Most decks will run at least 1 copy since this is a lot of value if get caught in top deck mode. And if not it will be a sought after spell from Marked Shot.

Top decking this turn 7 is great; worst case scenario is this -> Misdirection -> Hero power.
      Ok, that is dreadful…
But a +2 to card advantage for 3 mana is Never a tempo loss.

Just to be clear, it is a tempo loss. Drawing 5 cards for 3 mana is still a tempo loss. If you spend mana on something but don’t affect the board in any way, that’s a tempo loss.

It’s a great value card, but not a tempo card 🙂

          Thanks for the advice stonekeep.
Of course a tempo deck would not want this card, it doesn’t pressure the opponent.
I use “tempo” as a measure of activated resources. As this card turns mana into cards, I believe it generates my variety of “tempo”.

I mean, you can use the terms however you want if others understand you, but when it comes to the generally accepted definition, turning mana into more resources is called “value”.

            Value = more resources

            Tempo = more board impact

The secret will always cost 2 mana, and it’s actually good that it’s random since your opponent won’t know what to play around. The beast will either be very cheap (there’s 5 hunter beasts for 1 or 2 mana), or fairly expensive (there’s 6 hunter beasts for 5+ mana, plus however many are released in this set); most of them are good. The weapon is either Headhunter’s Hatchet, Eaglehorn Longbow or Gladiator’s Longbow.

Alll in all, it’s solid stuff, though not every Hunter deck will be happy to take the 3 mana tempo loss from playing this. 4/5

      July 22, 2019 at 6:16 am

Any Hunter deck that doesn’t care as much for this will probably run either a single copy or hope for it from Marked Shot the key time this is valuable is when your burning through your hand in mid – late game.

What about if they want to create some control style? I know it does not fit into class identity.. but with singleton card printed for hunter, i can see making Reno even work more. Aggro Hunter with Brann seems bad though. But if you hit the lategame, playing this card, of course with some other generators for ZulJin, this can be good. Midrange Hunter will stay as archetype anyway. But besides Secret/Best/Midrange/Mech style, i really hope there will be a version, making Brann work in a great deck. This card seems not to powerful. hitting the 4 out of 5 like you did.

My estimation is that Rogue, Mage, Hunter and maybe Warlock are not capable of making true Control decks nowadays. If you have little to no access to healing or armor gain and try to win in the late game, aggro decks will run all over you.

These classes can still be good, but their game plans will either revolve around pure aggression (Bomb Hunter), an explosive midgame (Cyclone Mage), or will fall somewhere in between.

Wtf 3 mana card that doesn’t draw but ADDS cards in your hand, while it’s random it will most likely give you at least a decent “care package”

Even if you get something like springpaw it’s simply tons of value. There’s very few hunter weapons, most of which are at least decent and stuff like hunter’s machete synergizes with the beast you get. Secret is basically lottery but most are beneficial. It’s quite unlikely that you don’t get anything good from this.

And even if it’s not good enough to make it to constructed (replacing hunter’s call) this card is bonkers in arena. 5/5

By the way if I remember correctly this was a custom hearthstone card a while back though it worked slightly differently, glad to see them implement it

While i agree that the card is nuts for value, drawing cards (especially in hunter) is always better then random cards for good reason, you built the deck. Although incinsistent, value is dooby dabbly insane

    Did you know?
Card generation is a limitation for hunter!

    • ASonofThoth
      July 22, 2019 at 6:04 am

Yeah. It is limited to a couple of cards ????.

      • Essexmcintosh
        July 22, 2019 at 7:16 am

My issue with how this card interacts with hunter class identity is that it is a very efficient form of draw. In Classic and Basic, Hunter card advantage tools either offset their loss of tempo, or they trade virtual card advantage for card advantage. This card, and Master’s call before it slightly reduce the flexibility of the deck somewhat, but otherwise they cleanly turn your 3 mana into 3 cards.

That Hunter card draw we’ve always wanted.
Similar to Masters Call in cost and in how many cards they (usually) give you.
While there’s a large enough pool of beasts and secrets to keep this away from consistent, there are only 3 Hunter weapons in standard (headhunters hatchet, eaglehorn bow, and gladiators longbow) which makes it a bit more consistent.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw another weapon this set, either to dull or maybe buff this card

If you play 2 master calls and 1 copy of this new card (Hunter’s pack) until 10th mana, then after playing Lol’jin you will draw up to 6 beasts + 3 cards from pack = total 9 cards. Epic value
