The year is 2018. Everything takes a breath of releif thinking druids rein of terror might slow down due to the new expansion. Gains druid pah it will never work 1 star! Gonk is bad! Little did the people know… Gonk can stack. Soon the meta will be filled with gain druid for otks based on how many minions your opponents plays. DRUIDSTONE LIVES ON

You tremble in fear, if you play minions you get otked, if you don’t you still lose.

with all but 1 card shown for druid when I posted this in order for this whole idea to work that last card need to be a 2 mana spell that reads give your hero +5 attack and immune they can only attack minions this turn. and I am not sure if blizzard would even print such a card for druid and if it was ever printed if that card would be op / fair / or unplayable

I won’t craft this but if I open it I’ll try it out. It’s probably too slow but it could be fun in a deck that plays two savage roars, druid DK, maybe a claw or two and hopefully some new card that gives Druid hero attack.

And just whom does that “it” refer to in the description: my hero, or the legendary beast?

7th turn Twig of the World Tree activation is pretty good.

You also have to tank the damage but i see your point.

Not a problem for a class with easy armor generation. Druid has had full hp + 30 armor for a while now.

I’d like to see the salt in r/fuckdruid when this clears a board of tokens. “Druid was weak to wide boards, why do they give them this broken shit?” etc etc

Oh seriously blizzard are you even trying to make druid have an interesting deck. Is this even playable. This can’t even kill a wargolem. And legendaries with the wargolem stats usually come with amazing effect. like medivh that gives you a 3 charges of summoning stone that is a 6 mana car. so basicly you get 7 mana worth of stats + 3 times the effect of a 6 star card.

You can just have 40 mana in one turn with that card and draw all your deck and make 45dmg face in one turn but yeah it suck. -_-

        December 6, 2018 at 6:57 am

Right? I went from 30 health and the druid at 30, 4 minions on the board with none on his side to him dropping 2 of these and wiping me out in one turn.

Show some imagination. Gonk Druid is playing against Token Druid. Gonk Druid has played both of its Spreading Plagues. Token Druid does the Wispering Woods – Soul of the Forest thing. It’s over, right?

    NO !!!

Gonk Druid plays Gonk, Claw, Floop’s Glorious Goop, kills everything, eventually gaining 14 mana, which can be use to play Spirits if draw is needed, and to play Bite/Gnash/other Claw/hero power, eventually Twig when they have four tokens left to gain 10 more mana (use the 5th charge for the Token Druid’s face).

Of course this is a stretch.

But this has to be a fun thing to try out.

Agree that the best part of this is twig enabling and floop mana. Allows for interesting clears and combos.

Druid doesn’t need much new cards. Twig would definitely be triggered with this sooner. Of course Druid wont get another weapon because it’s almost an insta-win if so. This is as generous as it could give.

    Wrong expansion buddy…

    November 26, 2018 at 7:20 am

The thing is, in the BEST case scenario (where you play this and immediately combo it with an attack buff to your hero), it’s just a low-damage AOE with a body attached. Like primordial drake, except it’s super conditional and it forces you to take face damage.

    • minti
      November 26, 2018 at 8:29 am

like primordial drake exept the fact that your face takes damage every time you atack. No biggie.

Whether it’s any good or not, I just love seeing druid players getting mad they didn’t get another combo enabler.

      November 27, 2018 at 1:38 am

This is exactly a Twig>Malygos>Floop combo enabler dude.

This card needs about two expansions of support and it would still be pretty mediocre, pretty cool design, way to expensive or way too low stats. 1/5

  16. Taznak
    November 26, 2018 at 6:12 am

A worse version of Stormwatcher. 1/5.

Does anyone else think that when coming up with which Loa would represent which class they swapped swapped Warriors and Druids hoping no one would notice.

    November 26, 2018 at 5:50 am

Honestly, this isn’t worth running in your deck.
    Like ever.

    1/5

Gonk, the Raptor is interesting, not so much from a constructed standpoint but from a design standpoint. It has nothing, other than the interaction of a Hero killing a minion, to do with the Spirit. I suppose the Spirit wants you to do the same sort of thing as this does thought.

Granted, Gonk is not a very good pay-off for all the minion killing going on. Druid’s may be able to accumulate quite a bit of armor at this moment, but without Malfurian the Pestilent or Baku the Mooneater in an Odd Druid, the class won’t be killing minions all the time.

    2.5/5

Not as weak as people are making out, but not anywhere near the strength of card needed to make a ‘chomp druid’ viable without some serious support from remaining card reveals.

It’s a decent effect, and a good stat line for sticking around turn 7, but the fact that the cheapest activation would currently be an 8 mana 2 card combo for a hero attack of 2 is so weak. Sure if it survives a turn and you have 8+ mana to play with a few bites or gnashes it could create a strong effect with a hero attack of 4+, but that still requires it to survive and is a pretty health intensive medium board clear with one additional shot at face. Cycling a few cards with the spirit in play would be decent, but fairly uncommon, and not a particularly big pay off for the investment. There is also some synergy with twig of the world tree, but nothing remarkable. Finally the beast synergy from the new cards doesn’t feel applicable to this style of card or deck.

It’s frustrating that this could so easily be improved by adding an effect such as the hero power costs 0 while in play, whilst still being far from overpowered, which would give it immediate impact and far greater value as a stand-alone card if it sticks for a few turns, particularly in an odd Druid deck.

Sure druid don’t need any more support right now, but this feels like a missed opportunity to create a relatively viable alternative druid deck without strengthening the existing ones, which would be refreshing. This could change with strong enough support from the last card reveals, but I won’t hold my breath.

It should be noted this effect cam trigger multiple times in the same turn. With enough armor and attack it’s a board clear. But I feel like you have to have a decently buffed hero to really get leverage out of this.

    November 26, 2018 at 1:34 am

Wait, the hero may attack again? or this minion?

    • jimmy
      November 26, 2018 at 1:51 am

from the word “it” it’s probably referring to the minion.

  23. Carth
    November 26, 2018 at 1:31 am

I feel like this should have been ‘refresh your hero poer and can attack again’ that would have felt strong without needing a buff spell and still be balanced

    • Oo
      November 27, 2018 at 2:05 am

Refresh hero power cost 2 mana per attack. This doesn’t

  24. Smellberg
    November 26, 2018 at 1:16 am

I think this is awesome! Druids has only one way to play today, ramp up and combo something (taunt, maly, togeaggle or tokens). Now we’re pushing another archtype that may revive some older cards that never see any play, claw, bite, savagery etc. I love that they are doing something completely different.

    • Guyopt
      November 26, 2018 at 4:25 am

but its not worth to build such a deck around 1 card,
if you had 2 copies it could be more consistent, and still not great.

Next card reveal for Druid: (spell) Your Hero gains Mega Windfurry this turn.

  26. Danyar
    November 26, 2018 at 12:52 am

… so it’s a conditional windfury… Aka windfury but worse? Tell me if I’m missing something here…

    • Sprite143
      November 26, 2018 at 1:09 am

yes, your missing the fact that its the HERO that can attack again, not gonk

      still 1/5

      • MelaMalone
        November 26, 2018 at 1:13 am

You’re sure about that? Still 1/5

    • MelaMalone
      November 26, 2018 at 1:10 am

You are not, and it’s 1 statline and a tag from being an exact copy of another Windfury minion.

So far druid seems very underwhelming in this expansion and i absolutely love it.

  29. MelaMalone
    November 26, 2018 at 12:39 am

So a Stormwatcher with a Beast tag instead of an Elemental tag, +1 Health and a serious condition to trigger its “Windfury”? 1/5

Has synergy with Malfurion’s hero power but still not worth it..

It may allow Twig Of a the World Tree to activate faster.

    • Bleedblue
      November 26, 2018 at 12:10 am

May also work with inspire mechanic in Wild as well

      • Halusky
        November 26, 2018 at 12:18 am

inspire would not trigger, because you are not using you hero power repeatedly, but youre just attacking with hero like any other minion.
