Shit card. A big beast deck doesn’t need this kind of card, and a midrange beast hunter deck doesn’t exist (and even if it did, it would not care for this either because of how low on tempo it is).

After seeing most of the Hunter cards, I’m actually a bit more sold on this one. Part of what makes me think the wild seed cards are bad is how slow they are, but if you can give the taunt minion 2 attack & rush, it’s actually pretty solid. Hunter is shaping up to be quite the midrangey class, and I think it’s here to stay as a major force; which, considering the class is so minion centric, is good for the health of the metagame.

I think this location is actually pretty decent. I can easily see it making a few different lists because of how well Hunter can use +2 attack and Rush on minions. Even in the current beast list, you could dredge up a Mountain Bear & make it a 4 mana 7/6 rusher. Or you could use Saber to rip out a Hydra & give one of the heads 2 attack & rush. I think people are really underrating this card. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this is actually 4 stars.

Really nothing to write home about, Control isn’t really Hunter’s gameplan. It would be decent at 1 mana, at 2 it’s just mediocre. The Rush part being highly situational, you pretty much can expect to get “mostly” +6 attack out of this. Spread across three turns. That’s pretty terrible, it’s like a worse Cold Blood. Meh. 3/5 is a very generous rating.

This card just seems super whatever. The beast deck that sees play is “Big Hunter” which pretty much all the Beasts CAN attack already or are a gigantic taunt which giving Rush is “cool” I guess. This is definitely a location I see without a home and even if they print a bunch of little beasts I would argue it is just too slow as you are probably passing on turn 2.

Don’t most Beasts in Beast Hunter builds have Rush already, and if not their explicit job is to be a roadblock? I’ll admit I don’t play Hunter a lot so this is just based off what I’ve seen opponents play, but this feels like it’s trying to fix a problem that doesn’t exist, and so it’s kind of just give a friendly minion +2 attack, which is nice I suppose but does not feel worth the investment of a deck slot and two mana and only once every two cards. I don’t think it’s unplayable, but as with the Warrior and Druid locations it just doesn’t seem that worthwhile unless there’s a lot of support for it in this set, which is certainly possible.
