We have some very sad news to share. Earlier today, his roommate and ex-girlfriend have confirmed that Reckful has died due to suicide.
Reckful was best known for his World of Warcraft career, finishing multiple Arena seasons at rank 1. He was a very popular streamer with nearly a million Twitch followers. Older Hearthstone players also know him very well as a part of our community. Reckful was one of the first streamers & pro players, popularizing the game back in 2013, and then playing it on and off for the next couple of years. One of the most notable moments of his Hearthstone career was the match against Kripparrian during BlizzCon 2013:
Many of his friends are sharing their thoughts and stories on social media. Some of Reckful’s VoDs are being played live on his Twitch channel right now. At the same time, thousands of WoW players are gathering in-game to honor his death.
