Battle.net Servers Down, Blizzard Working on a Fix, Possible Workarounds Inside (Update: Fixed!)

We usually don’t cover temporary server issues, since most of them don’t last for longer than an hour or so. However, this time around, players can’t log in for the last ~3 hours and you might be wondering what’s going on. After launching Battle.net, they’re greeted with an ominous “Blizzard Agent went to sleep. Attempting to wake it up.” error.

Bad news is that the issues seem to be harder to fix, since they’ve been going for a while. Good news is that a) Blizzard is working to fix them and b) that there’s still a way to play Hearthstone.

If you’re experiencing the issue, there are still two ways to play the game. First of all – mobile versions do work. You can play it on your phone/tablet/etc.

And second – while Battle.net is up, you can go to the directory you’ve installed the game in and straight up launch the game’s .exe. However, this method doesn’t seem work for everyone, so if it doesn’t work, you will need to wait or play on mobile devices for the time being.

Also, if you’re already in the game (on PC), because you’ve logged in before the issues, if you quit you probably won’t be able to launch it again.

Update #1

Update #2

The issues “should be resolving”. If it doesn’t work for you just yet, wait a bit. After they first posted the update I still couldn’t log in, but it started working roughly 5 minutes later.
