Mulligans
As we all remember, secret paladin was a strong tier 1 meta deck for a long time. It was dead for a couple of months , some people tried bringing back secret paladin deck but the win ratio wasnt the best. I have tested the deck for quite some games and i can say its strong for the current meta (reached rank 5 starting from r13 by playing like 50-60 games this season) tried to fix a lot of stuff, there are still some things that need to change in order for it to be a good tier deck. Overall it has a really good win ratio and you can easily reach r5 with it and even more.
Secret Paladin Strategies
- (turn1)Argent Squire , (turn2) The Coin + Rallying Blade is a solid starter
- You always try getting the most you can get from Rallying Blade , (e.x giving buff to Argent Squire Argent Horserider Scarlet Crusader )
- Secretkeeper + Redemption or even with Noble Sacrifice is a great opener too, you have to keep opponent busy by clearing etc.
- When it comes to midrange you play Barnes and hope to get Sylvanas Windrunner Ragnaros the Firelord Tirion Fordring, pretty solid for a round 4 drop.
- Best and strongest part of the game is round 6 when Mysterious Challenger feels the board with secrets, if u have kept board till that round its almost impossible for the opponent to get control back.
- One of my favourites is Argent Squire keeping the divine shield and playing Blood Knight getting such a good drop with just 4 mana is pretty strong and the opponent has to use his removals for it, making things more difficult for him to clear your Ragnaros the Firelord Sylvanas Windrunner Tirion Fordring
Keeping the tempo is necessary, but dont make the mistake using Keeper of Uldaman to feel up your board, cause its a must removal to keep for big enemy drops. Its your last choice to use uldaman for board.
Mulligans
You never want to keep Divine Favor , high drops and especially Repentance Sacred Trial. If you have those on hand you loose so much of your tempo and game begins to get difficult for you.
Bad matchups
Midrange Shaman (Lighting storm x2 , and Maelstorm x2 hurts a lot, cause after the clear he has big drops which make things difficult for you)
Malygos Druid (Getting bad start is the worst in this matchup, cause he benefits so much of it)
Miracle Rogue (You also need to have good tempo here or else things will be difficult)
Aggro decks(if you get the right cards, its an easy win, but if not its a 100% defeat cause the deck is lacking from taunts-heals etc)
I’m not too sure about feeling up my board. I might get sued.
so good
So basically this deck is bad against the most popular decks in the meta right now
Its not bad, you just need the specific draw vs each meta deck. You can win every meta deck by getting the right cards because you have 3 different ways to start with that deck.
wanna try it
