So, here I am in 2018, wanting to try out this deck. Does anyone know what would be the best replacement for mistress of mixtures and abyssal enforcer? With the new update , those two cards are now wild, which is pretty much useless because everything needs to be standard, What would be the best standard card replacement for the two?

Really liking this deck so far.

What would be the best Thalnos replacement? Running a dark pact atm

Tainted zealot is good for spell damage,u dont really need the extra that thalmos offers draw a card,u can draw enough cards with warlock, and skull of manari is really bad here,it will summon azari if u have equiped the weapon and u finished the rin rituals and then no battlecry and no destroying opponents deck

I don’t have oak and I don’t really like skull. Running one hell fire and a midhiv. It’s not too bad

N’Zoth would be better than Medivh.

      December 17, 2017 at 10:35 am

The more I run this deck, the more it seems that Oak is completely optional… it’s good if your Rin has not appeared early, but it’s definitely not crucial…

After tinkering around a little, I think Dark Pacts are necessary, it’s an insane amount of healing (which translates in way more taps, or gives you more chances vs aggro… dark pact a mistress and you get 12 health for 3 mana…).

Since I don’t have the skull, I’m running a single enforcer for removal mainly, the Voidlords are all you really need to control the game and wait for the Guldan or the Rin to fatigue your opponent… A second zealot instead of Thalnos (I don’t have him either) does the trick perfectly for those tricky Defiles…

Tar creepers feel a little underwhelming though…

U even dont need skull of manari,it will fuck up the battlecry of azari after u finish the rin rituals

So I’m a f2p and I dont have Twisting Nether. What would be a good replacement? Doom?

    • Corre
      December 15, 2017 at 5:04 pm

Doom is alright if you have it, or just whatever removal you can get (Hellfire, Spreading madness, Felfire potion…) Doom is the closest though since it removes everything… can be tricky to get to turn 10 if you’re against the ropes though

I plan on crafting Rin eventually, but for now what would be a good replacement for her?

    • Corre
      December 15, 2017 at 5:02 pm

If you don’t have RIM right now you may want just add a Hellfire for clearing and activating the spellstones… there’s a ton of warlock zoo decks around right now, it helps…

Honestly this doesnt work without rin,its not cubelock and u cant rush with 5-6 doomguards to the enemies face, rin is really good and neccesary,i played one while without her and then decided to craft the card, sometimes u only win because of her and other times it can be late if u draw her on turn 7-9 or even on turn 10

Replace one tar creeper by Medhiv to take care of the weapon problem + benefit from Rin.
    Going well so far 39-17 70% win from 15 to 6 !

Having some trouble with the weapon. Overall the deck works great and has great control/stall. However, I often have access to the weapon before I even get Rin or Oakheart. When I finally complete the Rin combo, the weapon summons the demon, bypassing it’s powerful battlecry effect. Am I doing something wrong? How can I utilize this deck to it’s full potential if I am doing something wrong?

    • Varenka
      February 10, 2018 at 12:19 am

dont play this deck with the weapon,i know,i played the first few times too and it fuck up the battlecry and the work u did with the rituals is for shit, sure u get one 10-10 but its better withhout the weapon,i play a different control warlock, thinking about crafting nzoth too,he would be great in thi s deck

Ive been playing this deck since the expansion release and have been having very good success with it for the most part. I know I wont win every game but I feel like some of the few games I lose could be prevented if I had the right cards. I know its early and everyone says don’t spend essence on cards this early. I am running 2x hellfire and an extra tainted zealot due to not having thalanos, oakheart, and skull. I have enough essence for 2 legendaries and was thinking oakheart and skull but am hesitant because it is so early in the expansion. I guess im looking for reassurance to not spend the essence for them or some knowledge on how good this deck is projected to be to warrant me spending the essence. Ty for the feedback

    • Sandrock
      December 10, 2017 at 8:00 pm

If anything, craft thalanos. long term gain in that he is a classic legendary. He is in just about any control deck because of its effect. So always pick those first to craft. After that, wait until the meta settles. To be honest, oakheart is probably the one you want to craft because of the instant value you get from him, skull is good, but not a completely necessary craft. I would save the dust until the meta settles to craft one of thsoe two.

        December 10, 2017 at 8:48 pm

Just wanna chime in and agree. I run this deck (no blood mage yet but I have everything else) and I would say craft Rin, Oakheart, and Gul’dan if you don’t have them yet. The skull is nice but I’ve had to screw me more times than I’ve really benefitted from it. I have pulled off the full Rin combo at least 5 times now and the skull had summoned him every time, negating the battlecry. Skull still adds a ton of value but just not as necessary for the deck to work well.

        • FatherMicah
          December 11, 2017 at 12:34 pm

I switched out bloodmage for medivh and its consistently helped with late a huge late game board and problems with the weapon.

        • Corre
          December 15, 2017 at 5:35 pm

I agree, Skull might be good under certain circumstances but feels too situational… I think it can be substituted without too much impact…

    December 10, 2017 at 10:11 am

Are the Voidlords absolutely crucial? and isn’t the skull a bit counterproductive if it pulls your enforcers or homunculus? They are the way to increase your spellstones… I’ve been testing this with Hellfires instead of Voidlords, a second zealot instead of thalnos (I don’t have him), and a single corrosive sludge instead of the skull, but I’m definitely doing something wrong, vs control I almost always end up in fatigue, and it’s difficult to effectively destroy the opponent’s deck with Azari.. I would highly appreciate pointers on how to play the deck…

    • 8BitBrain
      December 10, 2017 at 7:10 pm

Voidlords + guldan and oakheart are op. Hopefully you don’t draw homunculus early, but abyssal enforcers are usually hard to play with the battlecry, so cheating it out works alright. It isn’t crucial to activate your spellstones either. Voillords are needed, 2 of them.

      • Corre
        December 15, 2017 at 5:28 pm

Actually, homunculus are fine if you have the spellstones in hand, or if you add dark pact for sustainability… minor tweaks to fit different playstyles…

    • Varenka
      February 10, 2018 at 12:27 am

just play with one homonuclas(or maybe without homonuclas,it seems tht the possesed lackey almost always pulls the homonuclas to the field even if u have 2 voidlords in the deck),2 kobold librarians and 2 hellfires it is enough to boost the spellstones, and with the voidlords u can have a strong taunts board and play the rin rituals effectively, and hold the twisting nether(or doom, whatever u play) as much as possible,if the opponent has a strong board on turn 8-9,u have the voidlords and the demons form the rin ritual still in play, play twisting nether, then later guldan and resumoon your minions and then u can play azari

Has anyone tried Medivh to gain more value from the seals?

    • FatherMicah
      December 10, 2017 at 10:27 pm

After trying this out for a day. Easily fixed the weapon problem. Your deck does tend to get over flooded with minions but that’s not always a bad thing with the deck.

  13. Joseph
    December 9, 2017 at 1:53 pm

my argument was that by the time you finish the seals, your opponent would be out of cards naturally by then anyways. turns out Rin surprisingly good. control lock is already good against aggro and midrange and Rin is a very good anti control card. was playing against another control lock and destroyed half of his deck

    • Varenka
      February 10, 2018 at 12:29 am

yep,i was the same, though it will be bad at the time u can play azari and destroy the opponents deck, the deck is bad against the new mage with the explosive runes or whatever they call that, and sometimes agains big spell priest, depends if u draw rin early

  14. Aegis
    December 9, 2017 at 7:11 am

If you are feeling greedy some day, you can play the Darkness after you Azari your opponent’s deck. The ultimate end game threat. Chances are either dead already, won rounds ago and just BMing, or last resort all in.

guys should i craft rin or okenheart first?

    • Falken
      December 9, 2017 at 7:54 am

Rin is the most important of the 2 in this deck, but is otherwise a pretty bad card while Okenheart is a pretty strong cards in different decks including this one.

I built a Rin deck it’s very different from this one , no skull although I have it.. I use the demon recruit guy. to get void Lord and bloodblloms… Currently 7-1 with it. You have to stall but with warlock that’s not hard. To think I got a gold copy and was about to dust it… I’m glad I hesitated , this is fun..

    is this deck worth crafting

    • Chris
      December 8, 2017 at 11:01 pm

It’s tier 2 right now. I grinded from rank 9 to rank 6 tonight with a 67% winrate. Although I don’t use the weapon instead I have a single hellfire. It’s been great!

    • 8BitBrain
      December 10, 2017 at 7:11 pm

not super easy to learn but works fine I’d think

    • Corre
      December 17, 2017 at 10:38 am

Definitely a fun deck to play, and it has 2 different win conditions (fatigue with Rin or just good old demon swarm with Gul’dan), so I believe it’s worth playing… not sure about viability for top ladder positions though…

The Darkness puts duplicates into highlander decks, turning of cards like Raza and Kuzakus until they draw 2 out of 3 candles. I think it can be very useful depending on the meta.

      • Meta
        December 9, 2017 at 11:16 am

If your both in fatigue it’s actually a good thing that skull pulls it. It frees you up to hero power.

    • Marc
      December 14, 2017 at 12:05 am

If you run Medivh you can swap out the weapon when you’re ready to start working on your seals, solves the issue of summoning Azari as well.

    • 8BitBrain
      December 10, 2017 at 7:13 pm

Playstyle isn’t just easy, you need to play greedy and proactively. That, and any game with a new deck is hard to learn. It’s a control Warlock, not like any other deck.

    • Corre
      December 17, 2017 at 10:41 am

You need to play it more, so you can allocate your resources better… Defile is a great tool but it can be a little tricky to calculate… Try to delay the game with early taunts, trading and removal, until you can get Rin in there, or a decent gul’dan…

Do you think oakheart and rin is really worth crafting? I’m poor on dust and dont want to delete all my decks to afford 1.

    • Kastorex
      December 8, 2017 at 5:10 am

It’s best to avoid crafting cards early on, especially ones as slow as Rin and Oakheart.

    • Chase
      December 8, 2017 at 8:10 am

Don’t craft any cards. But your set on using dust oakheart has much higher potential and is neutral

Only losses i have so far in 10 games was to a rogue with double shadowstep prince on turn 2 and i had none of my early game and to highlander priest. This deck is really fun always love dogs deck ideas

How good is rin the disciple in this deck though?

    • devilix123987
      December 8, 2017 at 4:42 am

100% worth, control warlock pushes long enough to make use of Rin’s seals, and if you complete it, you get a win condition (and it is not hard to reach) your other win condition being bloodreaver gul’dan, which Rin’s seals contribute to! Its an amazing card for control warlock overall.

    • 8BitBrain
      December 10, 2017 at 7:14 pm

good, it costs 1 more mana on average to get a reasonable board effect, to get a quite good piece of value, for 1 card only.

  29. Darkbru
    December 7, 2017 at 6:40 pm

Every warlock deck is running double void lord. Of course I didn’t get even one from 85 packs. Is it worth crafting?

    • Richard
      December 7, 2017 at 6:50 pm

lucky me. I wasn’t even thinking of building a Warlock deck but what do you know. In 53 packs I managed to get both Legendaries from the Warlock class as well both Voidlords and I also got Master Oakheart.

    • Arcaedion
      December 7, 2017 at 6:56 pm

He’s been great for me so far. This deck feels extremely powerful. There’s a lot of cool synergies with it and I haven’t been able to find many weak spots with it in the 10 or so games I’ve played with it.

      • devilix123987
        December 8, 2017 at 4:47 am

Ikr! I was just thinking about what the deck loses to, and my only loses were blatant missplays on my part which lost me the game (during the early stages of learning how to use the deck effectively) it beats Miracle Rogue, it can beat Raza Priest, it beats Token Druid. What more could you ask for than a deck that beats all the other top tier decks! 😀

        • Koala86
          December 9, 2017 at 3:29 pm

Just wondering how does this deck beat Razakus priest? It seems too slow for it…

          • 8BitBrain
            December 10, 2017 at 7:16 pm

voidlords and playing proatively, plus azari and maintaining high health I think.

          • Corre
            December 16, 2017 at 7:47 am

It’s definitely not an easy match, you need to get Rin out there fast to mill their deck and deny them key pieces, or get a fat Gul’dan to keep your health up…

    • Qash2008

Are you kidding ?!? Man this is one of the BEST CARDS in the game
