This deck is surprisingly strong while managing to balance value with the ability to combat aggro. stonehill and the elemental 4/5 discoverer give you so much value on top of tirion and light rag, but fire plume and the blaze caller give spot removal and tempo that paladin normally lacks. I’m finding my equality’s to be more impactful because i can use spot removal on top of my weapons before using them as a last resort. it’s a control deck that can be more proactive than control paladin has been historically, i don’t find myself hero powering as much. it’s sort of a slow midrange deck with strong control cards. I’m assuming switching a copy of truesilver for rallying blade was chosen to combat aggro + make space for mana in paladin’s overstocked 4 mana slot, it’s worked for me so far although this choice was bizarre to me initially. although, hunter is running eaglehorn bow without secrets these days, which is the same stats as rallying blade.

I’m finding it almost impossible to get anywhere with this deck. That’s having got to rank 10-15 with Paladin on previous seasons the last couple months. By the time I’m getting to the mana levels where you’re meant to be powering away due to elemental synergy (5-8) I’m basically already dead.

What do you mulligan for and how aggressively do you try to force tempo as opposed to playing more reactively?
