New Hearthstone Expansion Announced – The Boomsday Project!

The trailer for a new Hearthstone expansion was just released out of nowhere, after the series of yesterday’s teasers! New expansion will be called The Boomsday Project and it will revolve around Dr. Boom, his lab and experiments in Netherstorm.

Edit: The reveal trailer is no longer public, and the website for the new expansion isn’t up, which almost surely means that they’ve released it by mistake.

We’re transitioning over to our main information hub for the new expansion! Be sure to check it out for all future updates and card reveals: The Boomsday Project Guide & Spoilers List!

From the looks, we can assume that Warrior will get a new Hero Card – “Dr. Boom, Mad Genius”. We still don’t know what it is exactly and what it will do, but it sounds pretty fun!

Is it safe to assume that the mega bundle comes with everything the regular does as well? If they are priced the same, then it would make sense that they have different bonuses.

Yes, of course. Like I’ve mentioned in the post, the MEGA-BUNDLE contains 30 “EXTRA” packs.

Draw the rest of your deck? Maybe this will be good, because it costs 5 mana and can be used to draw Lerroy Jenkins.

Nnnnnot so sure. The rest of your deck could mean burning a Lot of it, unless your hand is really empty and your deck is nearly out.

I think could be insane with miracle rogue in the last turns.

Would have to make a Rouge Control deck to get that far in the game.

still good if you have like 3-4 cards in hand and you have lethal with leroy or cold blod or sommthing you can draw a lot to win. that card can proberly increase winrate for odd rouge

I don’t understand if it’s a neutral spell – should be the first time ever. If you can use it with Curio Collector on board you have a new OTK Mage…

due to the coloring it s obviously a roguespell

          July 10, 2018 at 7:25 am

Even if you manage to copy a Curio as a rogue, He only gain +1+1 when you “draw” a card. As soon as you fill your hand and the cards start to “burn” he stops gaining stats.

i srsly don’t get the point of what you want to tell me, who cares about coppying a crappy card such as curio?
the legendary spell is obviously for a miracleroguetype of deck as a lategamemechanic to draw fast through your deck to get your finisher and/or alot of spiders on the board via strider.

@C0l0rs relax, I was just adding to your point to say that even if you could somehow use Curio along with this card, it still wouldn’t produce a 30/30 minion in any case (14/14 in the best possible scenario)

It’s not Neutral – it’s Rogue! It has a black border.

As a player who began to play in 2016, i have never known how OP Dr.Boom. I hope this expansion will somehow bring me some.

I wasn’t around for him either. Now he’ll be a warrior card? ….. blackhowl gunspire does well with random booms.

        July 10, 2018 at 6:37 am

if you compare it with the other cards, you don’t see an attackvalue of the card, so it will propably be a hero-card.

    • C0l0rs
      July 10, 2018 at 6:34 am

well he wasn’t “OP” in a modern sense, he was just very very good and stable. i mean there is a reason why he never was nerved. OP for me means that it feels unfair to lose against cause way to strong (like razaa+shadowreaper, call to arms, corridor creeper). the reason why doom was good was cause back in the days big game hutner cost 3 mana and was in every midrange or controledeck at least once (other removals like execute where cheaper aswell) so big minions were quite rare cause they could be removed quite easily for way less mana than it cost to put them on the board, boom was different. it wasn’t about it beeing 9/9 worth of statts for 7 mana, it was about “even if you remove the 7/7 you still have these 2 explosive 1/1s on the board which could range from 4 to a maximum of 10 damage”.
So no, in my opinion it never was OP, it was just strong, but in a healthy way.
But yes, I also hope that we re going back to where GvG was. For me I think the powerlvl of certain cards that entire decks are built around is way to high, I m mainly talking about any kind of “cheat out”/”insane poweturn that my entire deck is build around”-mechanic. I think they ruin the game because it s less about playing better or worse and more about “do I have card X on turn Y” and “did i pick the right class that can beat that specific powerturn”
anyways, good luck in the new expansion 🙂

As C0l0rs said, it wasn’t OP per se.

It just was strong and versatile. And neutral, it fitted in every deck.
The same happened with Sylvanas and Ragnaros, that’s why they were moved to the hall of fame.
