Expansion Clue from HS Twitter Accounts? Eye Wash Station – The Eye – Tempest Keep

A kind of weird tweet went out on some of the official Hearthstone Twitter accounts (here and here). It displays an eyeball that looks like C'Thun‘s that is being showered with water. The tweets when translated say essentially “only use in case of emergency” which lines up with your typical eye wash station warning.

Keep in mind that the previous thing we thought was a clue, ended up being for something else entirely!

Update: Looks like the official English Hearthstone Twitter is getting into the game with this teaser:

This one adds a bit more detail with the mention of elemental damage.

Original Teaser

What does this all mean? Well, in World of Warcraft there’s a Netherstorm area from Burning Crusade. the capital of Netherstorm is Tempest Keep, and within the Tempest Keep is the 25 man raid, The Eye.

This lines up very nicely with the predictions about the next expansion involving Ethereals, because near the Tempest Keep you will find the portals that are featured in the expansion teasers! Thanks to Tharid for the help with these lore insights!

Here’s a look at the expansion teasers in case you forgot:

Hi. This riddle is some kind of puzzle whiout obvious answer. But this give more detail about setting and content in new addon. Clue key:

    1. first poster to puzzle a riddle – that can be some allusion to Darkmoon fairy festival, becouse they use C’htun symbol. Also Eye presents in Emerald dream, nut there i green aura and in this addon everything send to purple color. Darkmoon festival is some crazy gathering with Eye emblem. Why they adept to C’htun cult? Maybe it have some conections with Kirin-Tor – they also use Eye symbol. Remember on a Blizzcon there was a stand with Darkmoon Eye? Kirin-Tor may send to Dalaran where is dungeon Violet Hold.

    2. In Outland there is Netherstorm area, where quests tell a story of mana hunger and why Blood elves have green eyes. They use manaforge to drain mana from air – maybe this somehow clean / wash they eyes! Or this is antything similar procedure in their wierd mechanism or giant ball dome, whith efirials technologic – time capsule with original looks of location Gongrond in Dreanor. There was aggresive jungles and fauna with flower cretures, beasts, bugs, elementals… Ethereal circle technology is present only in Neterstorm. But no one knows they secrets – Ethereal is much oldest creatures from Argus.

    3. Eye Wash Station can hint to Tempest keep / Botanica / Mechanar – witch have another name – “Eye”. Ethere is Laboratory in Netherstorm – Heartstone card Experiment 3c have easteregg: «The lab… In Netherstorm…». There Bloodelves make experiments with flowers and elementals (for minor elemental damage only). They have big LORE and fun – new addon have fun setting! Also funny music in dungeons and raids 🙂

    4. Orc/Goblin holding onto a peach – this is sends to Area 52 in Netherstorm with Golbins mechanism. This green creature hold mango witch is grows in eco-dome or stormspire.

    Cant wait new expansion!

My guess is next expansion would be car upgrade. So basically you have some basic cards and each time as you played it, it shuffled back to the deck or to your hand with a more power ability. Which somehow looks like the Jade, but comes more general in a various types.

Very exciting! Many of us still feel the burn from the Cenarion Circle hints before the Witchwood, so I myself am very conservative when it comes to doubling down on the definitive theme. But after this hint it just has to be something in or around Netherstorm!
