 Introduction to Dragon hunter

My version of dragon hunter is a tempo deck with strong minions and great value for late game. The deck revolves around you surviving early and getting to your Deathstalker Rexxar and Emeriss.  The deck is fairly complicated but once you get the hang of it, it’s really fun and great vs most control matchups.

Mulligan Strategy & Guide

Against Aggro you wanna look for early removal and mid game minions. vs control you wanna look for your value cards.

VS EVERYTHING

  • Prince Keleseth – One of the best minions in your deck that allows you to have a stronger early/mid game.
  • Witchwood Piper  – You keep this so you can get to Prince Keleseth  by turn 4-5 and in case you have him it can search out cards like  Tar Creeper  for survival.
  • Wing Blast  – You keep this because its pretty much a soulfire without having to discard a card. And it will help you contest the early board.

VS FAST DECKS

Higher Priority (Keep every time)

  • Candleshot  – One of your best tools for removing early minions, it helps you make good trades, and is insane vs paladin.
  • Eatrhen Ring Farseer  – it helps you get to your mid game without taking 2 much face dmg.
  • Tar Creeper  –  same as Eatrhen Ring Farseer

Lower Priority (Keep only if certain conditions are met

  • Deathstalker Rexxar – you keep this only if you have one or two cards that can secure your early game. Since its a decent board clear and will let you find answers easier.

VS SLOW DECKS

Higher Priority (Keep every time)

  • Deathstalker Rexxar – In control/value matchups you wanna get him out as soon as possible and if you can combine zombiests with Emeriss. you can usually beat out any control deck.
  • Spellbreaker  – I keep this into warlock and also into rogue.

Lower Priority (Keep only if certain conditions are met

  • Emeriss – you can keep this if you think you have the cards so you won’t die till turn 10-

If you have any questions i will anwser them.

For those who are wondering i reached rank 2 with this deck so it is semi competitive.

Hope you enjoyed and have fun playing the deck

Interesting idea! Never thought control hunter would become viable. I wanna ask about keleseth, is he worth crafting these days? I found some interesting deck using keleseth bt i dont know his performance in current meta

And would this deck work without emeriss?

Kelleseth still performs great in the meta the only problem is that he will be rotating out this year I THINK. If you dont wanna craft him just cut the witchwood grizly and the kelleseth for a 2 drop that lets you contest the board(your choice).

I can work without emeriss but you will lose a lot of power in late game which means the oponent will need less board clears to control your minions 🙂

      One more thing XD

If you’re cutting kelleseth you should also cut both witchwood pipers for 2 spellbreakers.
