Is it ok to lose 2 hellfires for the prince? Against shaman hellfire does 50% of the game and it’s pretty decent against other aggro/token decks as well.

As you might have already noticed a lot of decks target Priest nowadays. Prince Valanr is no exception. Priest has an incredibly hard time removing a 4 Attack divine shield minion. At least two cards are necessary to remove it or you have to have at least two minions on board/with charge.
If youÄre running in to little Priests but more shamans then taking it out for hellfire is totally justified.

This is an anti aggro deck only. You have no chance either against big priest or razakus priest. Prince is there to help you heal against aggro; believe me that a priest will not worry about one little 4 health minion.

They will clear it eventually, and since this deck does not run any big threats if they are any good they will just wreck you with a 5 or 10 mana potion once your dk resurrects your daemons. I play tested this deck on ranks 1-3, and it has no chance against priests.

Gheist is there to help against Druid, but even with him the match is almost unwinnable. He does help against evolve shaman though.

You do not play this deck against priest or druid heavy meta. But if the meta is full of tempo rogues, shamans, zoo or warriors this deck wrecks them.

I would just add that I did win a few games against priest and druid. Bu they all went into fatigue.

Prince Valanar has taunt and lifesteal, not divine shield. He’s good before shadowreaper is played, especially since he survives the battlecry, but afterwards he just eats 2 pings and dies. It’s an antiaggro card that happens to be decent against priest, but it’s not being played specifically as a priest counter.

Made an account pretty much to reply to this. First, Valanar isn’t really meant to help against priest as much as it helps against aggro. It also does not have divine shield as you mentioned, instead it gains taunt and lifesteal. With that being said, his statement about taking it back out for hellfire is justified. It depends on the matchups you are mainly running into whether or not hellfire/valanar would work better.

Really like this deck. I might be lucky but I have not needed the Golakka tech. Any suggestions for those two spots? Thanks!

The Crawler is in there specifically to stall the early game vs Aggro Pirate Warrior, if you’re not running into them you’ll probably not need weapon removal either so I wouldn’t tech in Oozes.

If you’re running into a lot of opponents that go wide on the board, e.g. Evolve Shaman, you could try Tainted Zealot for one Crawler – synergises brilliantly with Defile but is also good with Drain Soul and Shadow Bolt.

Normally Id’ say Spellbreaker or Blastcrystal Potion are possibilities – but they’ll screw up Valanar so avoid them. Demonfire perhaps, reasonably flexible in this deck or Mortal Coil.

… or if you want your opponent to rage quit, Gnomeferatu x2 – it’s probably a better late game draw than the Crawler if you’ve already played the Skulking Geist.

Would it be worth using the prince that gives +1/+1 instead of the price currently listed?

10/30 cards in this deck are 2 drops… most of them are very important to this control variant… I would say no.

I love this. Is this good for ladder climbing?

If you’re only facing Rogue, this deck works great. I still prefer the Prince Zoo variant for a well rounded deck, as this deck doesn’t pressure Druid or Priest all that much. In the event you play vs Quest Mage, you’re also in a tough spot
