Here is a really fun shadow priest deck. Whispers of the old gods added a few cards that brought what shadow priest was really lacking; healing. there are only a few cultist cards in this deck, but you only need to get two out and you have 20 heals from the Twilight Darkmender , and you can activate Twin Emperor Vek'lor so if you get either cultist in your starting hand, keep them.

While this deck does not run C'Thun , you do not need him at all, there are plenty of removal spells and other big hitters to make up for him, but if you feel more comfortable (or you need a replacement for any legendary) he fits in just fine and works as a nice board clear or even a finisher.

Prophet Velen Confessor Paletress and Nexus-Champion Saraad  are mostly there for the fun/RNG they provide, while they are not exactly game winners or anything, they do have potential to completely flip a game in your favor. Velen is extra nice when you need that extra damage for lethal or to clear a big minion(6 damage hero power with both shadowforms activated is never a bad thing). Paletress can provide you with some great legendaries forcing your opponent to deal with either her or the legendary she summoned immediately (Take caution though, when she summons minions like Acidmaw or Majordomo Executus, it can be devestating for you). And last but not least, Saraad is kind of a hit or miss legendary, sometimes he can get you a great spell that can really help you, but other times he will give you something that is completely useless, but if anything, he provides a nice soft taunt to bait your opponents removals (if you need/want to replace any legendaries, I’d go with him first, but I personally like using him in this deck and he has proven himself usefull enough that i still keep him).

With all 3 of these legendaries, make sure you have enough mana when you play them to at least use your hero power that turn, or else they will most likely be removed without serving any purpose at all. Another thing to remember is when is it a good time to switch to shadow form. Generally, I switch either when my opponent has nothing on the board and there isn’t a play that is obviously better for that point in time, or if you can use shadow form to clear a minion or 2. Remember, you can use your hero power before and after playing shadowform, so at 7 mana, if you are already in shadow form, you can hit one minion for 2 damage, play shadow form, and hit it or another minion for 3 that same turn.

That’s it for this guide. This deck may not be the most competitive, but it is a lot of fun and is by far my favorite shadowpriest deck I have played.

Enjoy!

Have you ever tried this deck? cards like twin emperor veklor and Twilight Darkmender does not trigger if you dont have c’thun in the deck.

It works fine without C’Thun, the only difference is that it won’t show the C’Thun being buffed animation when you play a buff card.

It doesn’t make sense why you would NOT include C’Thun in this deck. He doesn’t have to be your primary win condition. It’s just great to have a huge minion with a huge immediate impact like C’Thun.

Like I said, C’thun could easily be subbed for any of the legendaries in this deck. I originally had him in it, but I personally dislike C’thun so I choose not to run him, but if you are missing any of the legendaries or just feel more comfortable with him in the deck, then by all means throw him in. He is in no way necessary to win as I have gotten plenty of wins without him, but like you said, he has a huge impact and can definitely win you plenty of games, I just personally get much more satisfaction from winning without using C’thun.
